aww crap, they don't have any more rebates on vibes. I just got my blank check in the mail yesterday too (after the dealership closed). I had plans to add a CAI and Exhaust. Well, if I ever get a vibe, at least I'll know where to go for the latest info. http://www.gm.com/automotive/v....html

All the rebate programs ended on 8/2/2004. The page you link to was last updated 8/2/04. Wait a little while and it will have the next round of rebates.

The above show an end date of 8-2-04 but I am sure the rebates have been extended at the former levels or more. If o4's are gone at this point I'd wait until the 05's have a $2,000 rebate. Dealer in my end of town has about 30 Vibes on his lot. They ain't sellin' like hotcakes.

New Information from San Antonio Times 8-4-042005 rebate now $2,000?Here are some specifics: The $5,000 rebates are included on all Chevy Suburbans, Tahoes and TrailBlazers, Trackers and Blazers; GMC Envoy, Envoy XL, Envoy XUV, Yukon and Yukon XL (the GMC version of the Suburban); Pontiac Aztek; and the Buick Rendezvous and Rainier. The Rendezvous is a car-based, midsize SUV, and the Rainier is Buick's new truck-based midsize SUV, derived from the TrailBlazer. Most of GM's 2004 car models, except for the hot-selling Cadillacs, qualify for the $4,000 rebates. They include the brand-new Chevy Malibu Maxx hatchback, whose sales have been rather disappointing since its December introduction. Others include the Buick Century, LeSabre, Park Avenue and Regal; the Pontiac Bonneville, Grand Am, Sunfire and Montana minivan; the Chevrolet Cavalier, Monte Carlo and Venture minivan; and the Saturn L-series, which is now out of production. Even GM's new midsize pickups, the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon, qualify for $3,000 rebates; $3,500 is offered on the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. The Pontiac Vibe, a clone of the Toyota Matrix, carries a $2,000 rebate. Saturn's ION sedan and coupe, as well as the VUE sport utility, come with $3,000 cash back. Ford's incentives aren't quite as extensive as GM's, but they are inviting. The highest offer is $5,000 cash back for the new Freestar minivan; the full-size Expedition and midsize Explorer SUVs come with $4,000 rebates. Ford has $3,000 cash available on purchases of the Crown Victoria, Excursion, Explorer Sport Trac, Ranger and Taurus and $2,500 on the Escape, Focus and Mustang. The 2004 F-150 Super Crew models come with $2,000 cash; and some so-called "Heritage" F-150 pickups qualify for $3,000 rebates. Chrysler offers its biggest incentive, $4,000, on the 2004 Pacifica sport wagon, while $3,500 is available on the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Dakota pickups and Dodge Durango SUVs, $3,000 on Neon and PT Cruiser models, $2,500 on Dodge Ram pickups, $2,000 on compact Jeep Liberty SUVs and $1,000 on the Jeep Wrangler. Also, Ford and Chrysler offer additional $1,000 rebates to customers who finance their purchases through Ford or Chrysler credit. These rebates are in addition to discounts most consumers can negotiate with dealers off the window sticker prices of new vehicles. Those discounts often depend on the customer's negotiating skill and how badly the dealer wants to make the sale. If import brands are what you're looking for, rebates and incentives are offered by some manufacturers, although they generally aren't as generous as the ones offered by the Big Three. Here are some examples of current offerings: Toyota: No rebates or incentives on Toyota models, but special finance rates of 2.69 percent on Lexus IS series and 2.9 percent on Lexus ES 330 and GS models. Nissan: $1,000 cash back on 2004 Altima sedans or 1.9 percent financing; $2,500 to $3,250 on Pathfinder SUVs or 0.9 percent financing; $2,000 to $2,500 or 0.9 percent financing on Sentra models; $2,500 or 0.9 percent on Frontier pickups; $1,500 or 1.9 percent on full-size Armada SUVs; and $1,000 or 1.9 percent on Maxima, Murano, Quest and Titan models. Mazda: $2,000 on 2005 Tributes, $4,000 on 2004 Tributes, $3,500 on 2004 MPV minivans, $3,000 on B-series pickups, and $1,500 on the MX-5 and Mazda 6 models. Special finance rates also are offered, in lieu of rebates. Honda: No rebates, but special finance rates on Acura RSX and Honda Civic and Element. Kia: On 2004 models, $2,000 to $3,000 on Optima sedans, $2,500 on Spectra hatchbacks, $2,000 to $2,500 on Sedona minivans, $1,000 to $2,000 on Sorento SUVs and $1,000 on Rio sedans. Mitsubishi: Up to $3,000 rebates on all 2004 models. Subaru: On 2004 models, $2,000 on the Outback, $1,200 on the Legacy L, $1,000 on the Baja Sport, $750 to $1,000 on the Impreza and $750 on the Forester X. Suzuki: $2,000 on 2004 XL-7, and $1,500 on Aerio, Forenza, Grand Vitara, Verona and Vitara. Volkswagen: Zero percent financing on most 2004 models, excluding the diesel and high-end models. Dealer incentives, which may or may not be passed along to customers, good through Aug. 2, include: Honda: $3,500 on Acura RL, $1,000 on Honda Accord V-6 coupes, $500 on Accord sedans and Odyssey minivans, and $400 on Civics. Volkswagen: $1,500 to $3,000 on 2005 Passats, $1,500 to $2,000 on Touareg SUVs, $1,000 to $2,000 on Jettas and New Beetles, and $1,000 to $1,500 on the Golf. GM: $5,000 on 2004 Cadillac DeVille and Seville, $1,000 on the Cadillac Escalade EXT and $1,000 on the Hummer H2. BMW: $3,500 to $4,500 on Z4; $1,200 to $2,400 on 3-series models. Jaguar: On 2004 models, $6,500 on S-type R models, $5,000 to $5,500 on X-type, $5,000 on XK series and $4,500 to $5,000 on other S-type models.

I checked the GM Pontiac website late today (8-5) and they still do not have their rebate information updated to refect 8/3/04 onward. That is a ridiculous situation.
