Where do you connect the black wire coming out of the side of the scosche? Do you ground it to the car?

Has anyone had a problem with their a/c and heat fan motor making a noise at low levels? It's hard to describe the sound. I've searched on here but not found anything yet. It's a 2006 Vibe.

One thing I noticed today is that when the installer repinned the harness he must have reversed the front and rear speakers. When I fade it they are reversed.
