All the basics have been checked. My question is not the function of the button, but does the compressor cycle on/off or remain on constant? I can hear the clutch engage, but it remains engaged until I shut the a/c off. On my other car, the compressor cycles on and off. I know this depends on the typ...

Proper air conditioner operation

I've been fumbling with this since last year when I began noticing the a/c was not very cold.I have already done the insulation mod and checked the temperature door for correct seal. I've checked the 134a level, and added some. It's now running at about 40 on the low side, and 190 on the high side a...

Re: I asked my dealer about the oil capacity in my GT... (Kissfan79)

Guys that know me might remember I have a 96 Ram Air T/A that I regularly race...but the principles used are the same on any car. The best way to change oil is to:1)allow the car to run for 5 minutes to warm up, 2) once cool enough to touch, remove the oil filter then the oil plug,3) reinstall the p...

Re: Need help...No sound from radio??? (esjones)

OK so the saga continues. I received a DVD NAV unit, but it doesn't work either. It powers up, shows the radio stations and all, but no sound from the speakers. Also, the display is "buzzy" as if it's picking up signal noise. There's a slight herrignbone effect. Now, I am getting desperate....

Re: Solved the buzzing noise... (randye)

Well, I've been driving around without my radio for several weeks. It was during this time that I was better able to pinpoint where the sound was really coming from. Seems to have been the source in my car...

Solved the buzzing noise...

Like many of you, I've had the dreaded buzzing noise coming from my dashboard. It gets most extreme at 3000 - 4000 rpm. Anyway, after extensive searching, I believe I've got it licked. It seems to be coming from the glove box. When I removed it, I noticed the backside of the box is thin plastic, a pr...

Re: Need help...No sound from radio??? (esjones)

Well, I did get sound out of four of the five speakers. However, once I hooked up the last two speakers on the front passenger's side (tweeter and woofer component system) the radio would not produce sound. I reversed what I did, even hooked up the old speakers again, but no go. Not even the "b...

Re: Need help...No sound from radio??? (Al 03VibeGT)

OK. Seems to be a lot of bad information out there about the DVD NAV radio.First off, it has 6 speakers, not 4.The cd changer is under the passenger's seat, not the amp.The amp is not under the driver's seat, it's the AC power inverter. There seems to be an amp as there is a 30 amp fuse labled "...

Need help...No sound from radio???

Well, I'm very new to the Vibe. Just picked her up last week. Anyway, I hated the sound from the stock speakers and decided to change them. I chose high end Kicker units front and back. Anyway, I have the Nav unit with the 6-speakers. I replaced all 6 with the new units. After each speaker was copnn...
