Re: How long did your original Goodyear tires last? (HawaiiPontiacLover)

I'm at 57K miles and ready to replace at 2/32. Funny thing is I looked back at my records and they were 4/32 in 2006 at like 32K miles. About 15 months ago I inflated them with nitrogen which made them run smoother. I'm looking for a different tire when I replace - while the traction on these was gr...

Re: External Audio Connection (johnsoax)

Does this kind of setup require an open FM frequency or does this totally obliterate anything being broadcast on the chosen frequncy? I have an Arkon SF100 (FM modulator that does not connect to the antenna). The Arkon allows me to pick any frequency on the dial, but I cannot find a weak enough spot...

Re: Check your BRAKES (trdvibe)

Brake pads don't last as long as they used to because older brake pads had asbestos in them. That's no longer an option due to environmental concerns. So, we line the landfills with more, but less dangerous brake pads.

Re: How are your floormats wearing (Reynoma)

I only have 7k miles on my Vibe. It's an automatic and I use cruise control fairly frequently, so my feet are pretty much planted. Regardless, I have noticed my driver's side mat is getting worn looking. And I haven't even been through a winter with it yet! I think they are pretty low quality. I had...

Aftermarket options I would like to see:- Some sort of spoiler/wind deflector to keep all the rain and crud splashing onto the rear window- rubber cargo mat- a real cargo area cover- An adapter for the CD Changer to use it as an aux. input for an MP3 player or the like.

Re: Class II hitch for Vibe? (furrydogs)

I've been looking for a Class II hitch as well. Seems that Class I handles a tongue weight of 200 lbs while a Class II handles 300 lbs. I was looking at some 4 bike carriers that required Class II hitches and could only handle 150 lbs of bikes. What's everyone else doing for hitch mounted bike racks?...

How much did the hitch cost you? I'm considering installing one, hadn't really considered doing it myself, but the savings may make my decision easier.Do you have pictures? Thanks,Tim

Re: Yakima rack solution! (philndz)

I have the 4 Lowriders and the Lockjaw bike mounts. I called Yakima and they recommended that I mount the bike mounts backwards (Lockjaw in the back of the car). Looks kinda goofy with the bikes pointing towards the back, but the rack is a good six inches away from the hatch. My only concern is slam...

Gas Door Needs to be replaced

Has anyone had problems with their gas door? When I got my vibe a month ago, I had it parked in the driveway and noticed that my gas door was open. I originally thought I must have snagged on the latch release by the driver's seat. However, I found that if closed the back passenger door or the hatch...

Does a CAI increase or decrease gas mileage? Does it make the engine louder? Thanks.

Re: Yakima Ski rack (philndz)

Phil, are you saying you have a Yakima rack on your Vibe? Do you have a faring, or did your forego the faring and push the bike troughs up as far front as you could to avoid the hatch? My initial attempt at putting my Yakima on my Vibe with the faring leaves it hanging a good 5-6" over the back...

Re: Hiss, Static, White Noise coming from Stereo even when Off (ganderso)

I just got my Vibe 2 weeks ago. It just spent two days back at the dealer while they dealt with some issues, one being the loud hissing. This occurs even when the Radio is off. I also experience the 10-15 second noise after I turn off the ignition and pull out the key.I will not accept this as norma...
