Re: My not-so-new Vibe

https://www.copart.com/lot/43775968 - there is the old Vibe GT. State Farm took it so I can't part it out. I wanted to do it, but they wouldn't allow it. Has a clutch with about 2k-3k miles on it, plus the Monsoon bits & pieces.

Re: My not-so-new Vibe

I walked in to a bit of a deal & was scared at first. 2001 Nissan Pathfinder LE (R50 w/ AWD/4WD). Very little rust. Oh wait, 61,000 miles! Single owner! Older lady had it the entire time & drove it mostly to church over the years & kept it very well maintained. The leather interior looks...

Re: My not-so-new Vibe

Oh yeah, airbag replacement done last year, though it was the passenger air bag. Only thing airbag may have hit was my arm. I don't think it touched my body at all. Seat belt definitely worked & I think my fat acted as my airbag :D Thinking I'll probably stick with Toyota, because every Vibe tha...

Re: My not-so-new Vibe

Thanks again! Yeah, I just found a few Highlander's on CL here in Chicago. Priced nicely. Vibe or slightly bigger is my interest. I need to pull/roof top a fishing kayak & bicycles, and whatever else I need for my outdoor excursions. Saw a few Subies 2005 and newer that looked nice. Found an 08 ...

Re: My not-so-new Vibe

Thanks Caretaker! I too am hoping it won't become a burden more than it needs to be. Unless I was to find that same exact Vibe, I'm seriously considering an older Subaru now :) Don't want to go the new car route, as I am one that likes to use my vehicles, so they are gonna get scratched & take a...

Re: My not-so-new Vibe

Well, made it almost 10 years. Yesterday a car pulled out in front of me and I t-boned the vehicle at 40/45mph. Messed up my hand from the airbag explosion. I'm kind of sad actually. I loved this car. Carried my yaks, fishing equipment, bicycles, and had great gas mileage & enough get-up-and-go ...

Re: 2005 Monsoon - What are the specs?

Crutchfield is a good source, but here is what I did for my Monsoon upgrade:

- Front Doors: 6.5" or 6.75" in the doors, 1" tweets in the tweeter location
- Rear Doors: 6.5" or 6.75" in the speaker location
- Sub: 6.5" subwoofer

I replaced the Monsoon amp.

Re: 05-08 Factory monsoon sub, should I get?

You can get really muddy bass out of the stock sub. Surprisingly, the Kicker 6.5" sub and the JL Audio 6.5" sub on Crutchfield, sound amazing. Now you aren't going to be bumping the neighbors windows & driving them nuts, but inside the car you will enjoy it. My favorite sound setups ha...

Re: 2005 GT - Want to add footwell lights when dome lights on

Derf, yeah, already looked at that and the videos :) I just finished upgrading the front, middle, and rear domes to the panel LEDs on Amazon from Cute something or other. Yeah, I definitely do not need footwell lights anymore. In the middle & rear, I was able to get 2 panels, 48 LEDs total in th...

Re: 05-08 Factory monsoon sub, should I get?

I would think for that box to work in other Vibes, you would also need that rear panel for the Monsoon system. I have the Monsoon system in my 05 GT. If you do decide on getting it (worse would be you pay less & resell it on Ebay and make a few bucks), things I would do to make the box way bette...

Re: 2005 GT - Want to add footwell lights when dome lights on

OK, I just realized, my front dome light in my Vibe doesn't come on with the door open, that's different I think. It does work when you push the button though. So, I can see a relay in my future. Want them to come on when the dome light does as well as when the door opens. Would be cool to get them ...

2005 GT - Want to add footwell lights when dome lights on

Is there an easy place under the dash to wire into, or do I have to go the "hackish" route & run wires up to the posts on the dome light itself? I searched all over, and haven't found anything definitive yet. I want them to come on whenever my dome light comes on, that is when I push t...

Re: 2005 GT - Radio On - Clicking Noise (Relay Like Sound)

Didn't get a notification someone posted. Yeah, I have that knocking noise, and my lazy (removed), instead of fixing that, I just shoved something in the switch that recirculates the air. That stopped that. I need to fix that issue too in the future, but right now, it almost sounds like my blinkers ...

2005 GT - Radio On - Clicking Noise (Relay Like Sound)

2005 Vibe GT with the Monsoon package. Sometimes, not all of the time, I will hear almost like a slow turn signal sound coming from my driver side behind the dash. I notice it only happens if I hit a bump in the road. I can stop it back banging the dash with my fist or by shutting of the radio. Anyo...

Re: My not-so-new Vibe (nixternal)

OK, here are some answers and then the pics:It has 60k on it. The thing is darn near mint condition. Whoever owned it before me obviously read these forums as he/she did the fog light mod always on mod. They kept the car super clean as well.I am looking at doing the following now: * Seat covers (tho...

Re: (northvibe)

Ya, I am thinking the redouts will be the best bet and they are inexpensive. I will stop by the shop tomorrow and see if I can get a set of HID bulbs as everyone told me to get those. I am loving the "lift" Very responsive I must say.

My not-so-new Vibe

Love the GenVibe feel by the way. Anyways I just picked up a 2005 Vibe GT for a darn good price. It is Salsa color with all of the "stock" GT options. I haven't taken any pictures yet but as soon as I do I will post them here. It is a great driving car, love the room as it holds my bikes p...
