Re: (wyatt89)

I haven't read anything negative about the Exedy TOB so I was hoping to save that $50 for a "Genuine Toyota". I'll be inspecting the new one once I receive it and probably make my decision then.

Re: Clutch won't release completely *long/funny* (ToolGuy)

I bit the bullet and ordered a Fidanza flywheel and Exedy S2 clutch last night. I'm going to shop around for some ARP flywheel bolts too. She's got 130K miles so I am going to do a bunch of maintenance while I am in there so I will definitely replace the rear main and front tranny seals. Thanks for ...

Re: Ported intake manifold (Raven)

"Did you go at it with any tried and true method or just freestyled it?"I've spent time with a flow bench in the past so I have a basic idea of flow characteristics. Once I removed the plenum it was easy to see where improvements could be made. There is a ton of extra aluminum in the plenu...

Ported intake manifold

I had some clutch issues last week that required the tranny to come out so while the car was down I figured I'd port the intake manifold. I mainly wanted to make a velocity stack inside the plenum but once I removed the plenum I realized there was lots of room for improvement. I am about halfway don...

Re: (slow4dr)

The tranny is out and I am guessing the throw out bearing was the problem. I bought the car a year ago and the previous owner claims he had just put a new clutch in it. The clutch is definitely new but the TOB looks factory original. I'm thinking about replacing the clutch anyway while I am in there.

Re: (lovemyraffe)

I cut out early, I figure the last thing I need to do is overexert myself tonight so I am worthless tomorrow.Oh and I went ahead and yanked the intake manifold while I was in there so I could port it and the throttle body.

Re: Clutch won't release completely *long/funny* (slow4dr)

Welp, I was just able to measure the distance it moves while it was working properly and the slave still only moves the arm .75" so that leads me to believe the problem is inside the tranny. YAYYY lucky me!!!!! I'll be in the garage for the next day or so if anyone needs me. LOL

Clutch won't release completely *long/funny*

I hopped in the Vibe Friday morning to go to work and it just grinded going into reverse with the clutch pedal depressed all the way. I tried 1st through 5th and I got the same thing. Luckily I have a 2nd vehicle so I grabbed the keys for it and went to work. When I got home that evening I did a bas...

Genesis Coupe wheels

I've seen a few sets of stock Gen Coupe wheels for cheap on ebay lately and it's got me thinking. I'm in need of tires and I hate the stock wheels and offsets. I've searched the Genesis forums and I couldn't find what the stock offset is so I was curious if anyone has tried fitting them.I've been wa...

Thanks for the picture confirmation. I just looked again and sure enough I have the right wire/pin. I am baffled.

Re: (hskater26)

Yep, 100% certain it was pin# 12. I had the gauges completely pulled out of the dash and the harness easily accessed from the top.

Re: (keithvibe)

That link is for eliminating the flicker with HID's. Just for ****s and giggles I cut the wire just below which should be wire #3. DRL stayed on with this wire cut.

I was afraid of that, now that I have the dash all back together. I think I'll go in from the bottom this time.

HELP!!!!I followed the directions and cut the #12 wire, the DRL are off but now the headlights won't turn on at all. Lows, highs, nothing, the fuses are fine too. I went in thru the gauge side because I was doing the 6 speed reverse beep disable as well. Everything there went fine, the beep is off a...

Re: (Sublimewind)

The CV is designed to work in a certain range, the manufacturer didn't intend for it to be bottomed or topped out(inside the CV). Having said that moving the suspension up OR down an inch or two isn't going to create reliability issues. FYI: I rotated the tires on my car on Saturday and I realized I...

Re: (keithvibe)

I figured I'd give this thread a bump. Most have tried talking you out of doing this but I I'd like to see it done. As long as you don't go to the extreme it won't require other drivetrain/running gear mods. The main reasons why so many lifted vehicles have tranny issues is because They increased th...

Cool pics mang! Good Guys shows always deliver. I just got back from working the NSRA event in Bakersfield this weekend. Of course my battery failed before even taking one pic. I'll probably be at the Good Guys show in August.

Re: (MRCN RCE)

Thanks everyone! The Nova is definitely a "work in progress" but I hope to have it drivable by the end of the year. I'm having random bad thoughts about lifting the Vibe up an inch or two, putting a light bar on the front and making a skid plate for the front......RALLY STYLE. It must be t...

Hey all!I picked up a used '03 Vibe GT commuter since gas prices are getting out of hand. The car will remain mostly stock except for maybe some airflow mods to help with mileage. So far I love the car, it's alittle "buzzy" on the freeway but that's probably cause I'm used to driving the M...
