Re: Edge Of Trim Panel Came Unattached On Passenger Door

Here's another source for the body cladding clips:

NAPA Balkamp 665-2849

It seems that Amazon is a little less expensive, but in many cases you can drive to the local NAPA store and get to work on your car right away.

Re: Body Panel Clips / Body Cladding Clips - SOLVED

I spent quite a bit of time searching, and finally found them at NAPA.

The dealer wants about $4.00 each, and I need nine, for a total of $36.00. NAPA charged $11.00 for 14 of them. Much better!

Body Panel Clips / Body Cladding Clips - SOLVED

I opened my door over an area that was higher than the surroundings, and when I closed the door, the body panel pulled away. I need to buy the little clips that hold the panel in place. Unfortunately, it's very hard to find them online, because they're an obscure part, and the drawings online do not...

I'm amazed at the mileage on your clutch. If you search this forum or a forum for the Matrix, you'll find that most stock clutches only last for 40-60K. The Vibe GTs and Matrix RSXs are, understandably, even more likely to burn up the clutches. In addition, most drivers agree that the stock clutches ...

In this case I am complimenting the low pedal force. My understanding is that many high-performance clutches have higher pedal force. However, my experience with the Centerforce clutch is that you get a predictable clutch without high pedal force.

One thing I like about the Centerforce clutch is that the pedal force is very low.

We have had the Centerforce Dual Friction in our Vibe GT for something like 10 months now. It is a big improvement over the stock clutch.I describe it by saying it is less forgiving, but more predictable than the stock clutch. It is less forgiving, because if you let it out too quickly, you'll stall...

Re: Re: (Sull)

Hi Sull,I agree that the 48" bars you have look nicer. We bought the 58" bars thinking that they would be better when we carry cargo that's bigger than our tandem bike. (See the last picture of our car in our Vibe Garage.)BTW - have you tried your rack with AND without the fairing? Is ther...

Re: Yakima Rack (mwandaw)

dvgb173 - I have a 2006 Vibe GT (see the original post at the top of the page). There are also photos included in the original post at the top of the page. If you would like some up-close photos, please just let me know.Since I have a 2006 model, I don't know what is needed for a 2009. However, love...

Re: NEW CLUTCH FINISHED...Centerforce Dual Friction (gp20mushii)

gp20mushii - thanks for the great write up!My 2006 GT clutch is slipping (grumble, grumble), and I'm thinking about installing a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch/pressure plate. Now that you've had yours for about a year, do you still recommend the Centerforce DF?Thanks,Mike Wilkinson

Good Transmission Shop in Orange County CA

My 2006 GT clutch is slipping with only 48,000 miles :-( I have really enjoyed this car, but having to replace the clutch really ticks me off.OK - back to reality... I have to get it replaced. I'm thinking about a Centerforce Dual Friction (DF549035) (See http://centerforce.com/clutche...types). Any...

2ZZ-GE or 1ZZ-FE

I have been looking for some routine maintenance parts, and a lot of the references distinguish between "2ZZ-GE" and 1ZZ-FE.I believe that 2ZZ-GE refers to the Vibe GT, but can anyone confirm this?Is there a note about whether 2ZZ-GE or 1ZZ-FE applies to my car in the owners manual or some...

Re: (asburydan)

Funny - I moved from a Ford Escape - a vehicle with which I had a love-hate relationship. It was the right size inside, it handled very well for what it was, and the cargo rack was very flexible and useful. It had good fuel economy for what it was, but I wanted better. The worst part was the punishi...

I will definitely get in touch with you when I am ready to order a bike mount. It just didn't work out this time, I guess because of the craziness of moving your store. Thanks again for the advice and help.

Yakima Rack

I ordered a basic Yakima rack for my 2006 GT from http://www.rackoutfitters.com/. They have a discount price, and the parts arrived in good shape a day earlier than expected. The Yakima components were easy to install (especially the LowRider) and they seem to be good quality. This is what I ordered:...

My plans for mods are pretty tame...> Yakima racks - already received - photos above. I don't plan to leave them on. I'll just use them when needed.> Maybe a ScanGaugeII (http://www.scangauge.com/)> Maybe a rear anti-sway bar> Maybe I'll make a deal on some used 17" Vibe wheels. I'm dragging my...

Re: (MRCN RCE)

I believe that a couple of times each month a club has a course set up in the parking lot of Fontana Speedway. I had the feeling that it wasn't a formal autocross competition, but rather a "run what 'ya brung" fun event.I don't know the details, but it sounds like it would be fun, safe and...

Unfortunately we live in the big city (Orange County, CA) so there aren't many chances for scientific testing, unless you want a souvenir from local law enforcement.

I went to http://cars.com and searched for 2006-2008 Vibe GTs in the Los Angeles area. I found two 2006s, but nothing else. Sounds like I'm lucky to have found a nice one!

MWANDAW - 2006 Vibe GT

We have always wanted a compact sporty station wagon. Our idea has been that such a car would be fun to drive, comfortable and economical, but still be able to carry some cargo when needed. Unfortunately, most of the cars like this in the U.S. are European brands that are expensive to buy and mainta...
