Re: Vibe GT Update (Petrucci914)

It doesn't apply to used cars. I checked in the state of idaho. When they have the as is paper in the window of a used car, it is just that....Once you drive it off the lot, there is no turning back.

Re: Vibe GT Update (jimincalif)

I bought it from a Used Car Dealer. Thanks for the info, I will try to contact them again and if I don't get any action, I'll flie a complaint with the BBB, Idaho Attorney General and EPA.I may be able to get them to pay for the wiring too, because the wiring caused it to not comply with the clean a...

Re: (kevera)

So I am guessing that it won't work? I took my Vibe to the Pontiac Dealer today and they checked the fuel injectors and they are fine (although the tech screwed up one of the Injector Seals and cannot get it to seal again so now they have to order one). They are looking into the wiring harness. Afte...

Worst News Ever!!!!

Some of you may have been reading about my mis-adventure buying a Vibe GT.When I bought it, it didn't have a Catalytic Converter and the CEL was on. After reading the MIL, the Misfire in 1,3,4 seemed to be related to the Catalytic Converter, O2 Sensor, and Mass Air Flow. Of which I have replaced the...

Re: Help!! The vibe I bought had the Catalytic Converters Removed (kevera)

I had a Catco Catalytic Converter installed this morning. It is running better, but not right. After I picked my car up I drove around until it was warm then went to Checker and cleared the CEL. I drove around some more and it came on again.Crap!

I scanned my Vibe today and it had P0125 error code about the coolant wasn't able to function in a closed loop. Is that an error in the thermostat or the sensor?

Re: Help!! The vibe I bought had the Catalytic Converters Removed (kevera)

I am misfiring in 1,3,4. I switched coil packs 1 and 2. Cleared the CEL, then drove it again, when CEL came on again, I checked the error codes and again it was misfiring on 1,3,4. So I am comfortable that the coil packs are good, or at least coil pack 1.What does the stock ECU say on top of it? I c...

Re: Help!! The vibe I bought had the Catalytic Converters Removed (joatmon)

I looked underneath the car and the second Cat has been replaced with a straight pipe. It sounds like I replaced the second sensor when I needed to replace (bank 1). When I replaced the second sensor the O2 error went away and hasn't come back.

Unplugging the O2 Sensor - will it cause damage if it is temporary?

It runs better without the O2 sensor plugged in.Will this damage my car if I drive it for a few days without it plugged in?My Vibe sounds like it is lobingYou know like when you install a meaty cam in a small block chevy. Re: Help!! The vibe I bought had the Catalytic Converters Removed (Raven)

I will try to post a picture this weekend. I don't get home until after dark. I would like to try and bypass the o2 sensor to mimic the cat is there so I can determine if the real problem is the cat or something else. Does anyone know the normal signal range that returns back to the ECU?

So that is what I hear, I just found out that you cannot buy Cats from junk yards. If my only solution is to get the cats then possib...

Re: Help!! The vibe I bought had the Catalytic Converters Removed (Raven)

There is the muffler at the back, then a expanded portion of the pipe that is long, about 18-24" long that sits under the back seat.Is that a resonator or cat? That is the piece I am calling that the resonator.

Re: Help!! The vibe I bought had the Catalytic Converters Removed (Raven)

I saw two sensors, one that connected to the wiring harness near the center console, that is the one I replaced. The other sensor looked like it went into the exhaust after the resonator which came up through the floorboard by the back seat. When I was under the car, I didn't look for the cats. I ha...

Re: Help!! The vibe I bought had the Catalytic Converters Removed (Mavrik)

That is what I was thinking, but I dont know enough about vehicles with ECUs. I can rebuild internal combustion engines, but I am still learning about the sensor stuff. Basically I don't know enough to call BS on them and they won't do anything more to help me until I install catalytic converters.

It only runs rough when it idles when it is warm. It runs fine when I am driving. I put a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank. I am half through the tank and it is still causing problems. The CEL isn't flashing though.

Bosch O2 Sensor

I have a question about using a bosch 02 sensor in an 03' Vibe GT. I just spoke with a Toyota Mechanic and he said that my P0300, P0301, P0303 and P0304 errors were from replacing a bad O2 sensor with a Bosch Sensor.Has anyone else heard or experienced it?Thanks,
