Stupid truck flying rock chipped my window

Title pretty much says it all. A Truck flew by me during my morning commute and my windshield got hit by gravel. It took a small chunk of my window too. The chip is probably about 1/4 of an inch diameter and has 5 spider legs coming out of it.My question is thus: Is there a product I can get that ca...

What is the item right at the base of the hood on the salsa vibe pictured above? It looks like a mustache.

Re: (redlava)

As I mentioned above, I tried 3 different brands of CD-Rs, using 4 different burners with all different speeds. I hate to say it, but its the brand of CD-R in this case that was the problem.

Re: Crossover (kunkstyle)

I was just thinking about this the other day. My old car I had put in a system with an AMP that had one built in. It would be nice to know if there are any that could fit right into the normal enclosure.

Re: (WaveAction)

Maxell CD-R Pro. They work great! I cannot believe that the stereo is really that picky, but whatever works is fine by me.

Re: New Genvibe Member (4X4CHICHI)

Thanks for the kind words. :DNo modifications yet. Although since my car was the floor model it came with nice rocker moulding (which had to be removed because they were after market and no one could figure out where they came from during my first repair. Not a GM part...). So I have the stock mould...

Re: (northvibe)

My last car I had put in a nice new headunit, but I actually like the Vibe's stock headunit. I will try a few more brands before resorting to warranty support. Thanks again!

New Genvibe Member

I was searching for some answers regarding my stereo so found this wonderful site. Figured I would sign up and introduce myself as well.I have a 2005 AWD Salsa Vibe. At first I was not interested in getting a vibe, but at my wife's request I took a look at the Vibe. She had a professor in college th...

Re: (kunkstyle)

Bummer. I will try Maxell cds too and see if that helps. I dont mind having to buy a certain brand as long as they work. Also dont have the money to buy a new headunit. Hopefully this works out. Thank you all for your help!

Re: (northvibe)

Yes still under warranty. I guess I could get the stereo replaced, but going to the dealer is as much fun as hammering my hand.

Re: (northvibe)

The CDs work great in my computers and even my wifes car cd player. I think by default iTunes verifies CDs. I know I didn't turn it off. I have tried different speeds for each recorder to test them. I am starting to feel that my Vibe stereo is just finicky and I just need to find a better brand of CD.

Re: (jimincalif)

I have tried burning them on different burners even at 1x and while it helps a little, the tracks still skip and that wrenching noise still happens when I first insert the CD.

Re: Problem with some burned CDs (Kamikaze)

See thats the thing. My old ones are memorex. When I ran out I grabbed a bunch of Fujifilm from work and they have that problem. Tried Imations, same problem. Went to the store bought new Memorex CD-Rs and they still have the problem. Yet my older burned CDs still work fine. Mostly its just been a w...

Normal CDs work fine. As do my old Memorex burned CDs. I guess I could try yet another brand and see what happens.

Problem with some burned CDs

I own a 2005 AWD Vibe, with the 7 speaker option. Up until recently I have had no issue at all with burning CDs and listening to them. The other day I ran out of CDs, so I used a new stack. When I put it into the stereo I got this wrenching noise and then the cd played but skipped constantly (I was ...
