Re: Wet Floor

Guys, for anyone else having this problem -- duct tape the moonroof, and your problem will magically disappear. I, too, thought if it was the moonroof, I would see it around the edges of the moonroof in heavy rain -- not slushing around on the back floor. But it doesn't directly leak from the moonro...

Re: (jamalogist)

Yep, that was it (again). On the '03, it's right by the sideview mirror adjustments. What got me this time, is that same switch controls the indoor lights (which are supposed to come on when doors are opened.. but on mine dont.. long story.. so one of us probably used it to manually turn on the ligh...

Re: (09vGT)

Not at all, I did have that happen to me as well, during the early naive years of ownership. Pretty sure it was the first thing I ruled it out this time, but let me double check, you never know. Thanks

Re: (cptnsolo77)

I put in some high-end Hertz speakers.. and had them drill a hole for the tweeters in the back (there was already a separate place for tweeters in the front). But I think the door itself or the housing cannot handle the vibration because after a couple of years, they blew out.. this was with an infi...

Re: aux for radio (fpsfreak)

nooo... dont do it!The Vibe head unit is actually quite good, I doubt you will get any better sound going with third party. And while most of them will have aux in, most do not have RDS (song display and radio call name). You will miss it... I had a couple of third party head units, and actually pai...

Dash Lights not working -- but only at night / in the dark

Before I assume it's a fuse.. Let me say that during the day or when it thinks it's bright enough, they work fine. It is only when you hear that little click, like in a tunnel or at night, when in the past, it used to automatically turn them on brighter and add headlights(?), now everything goes dar...

Re: wind noise

Agree engine is quiet and non-issue.Last few days of snow flurry conditions & high winds reminded me that wind noise could become an issue. Not sure if it got worse after they replaced my recall-prompted window bolts, but at 80mph you start getting a whistling wind-blowing noise, as though one o...

Re: (joatmon)

Right, no sub with the M&T -- all speakers are full range. Only crossover is for the tweeters by the side mirrors. My question is, are you losing power as well -- i.e. do you have to turn it up, higher than before, to get the same volume? And it's source independent -- i.e. it's happening with b...

Quote, originally posted by 98ex » Sucks though cause I want HD radio now and don't want to give that feature up. The 6 disc changer I can do without, but really like that FM text. You won't give it up with HD-radio. Although most head units' FM tuners don't offer RDS anymore, like the factory Vibe ...

Re: speaker replacement help! (theodo155)

The cheapest aftermarket pair you can get, will already be better than the paper cones you'll be replacing (even with moon-and-tunes). Clearance should not be a problem if you stick to shallow speakers. Remember, with your moon-and-tunes, you already have separate tweeters mounted by your side mirro...

Re: Can my 03 vibe radio be replaced with an 06 radio? (Sunny)

You guys, stop bashing the Vibe stereos.I replaced mine, and believe me, did I ever live to regret it.You don't know what you are removing here. These units have one of the most sensitive tuners, they have an always-on clock, they are quite durable actually -- and I dare you to find me an aftermarke...

Re: (joatmon)

Thanks everyone. I did find the 24pin connector, and I see now that the speaker wires do go there instead of the smaller (and essentially unused) 12-pin connector. Yeah, I heard about the AM amplifier that sometimes has to be explicitly connected, but I can't tell whether Best Buy hooked it up or no...

Wiring help -- put back the factory stereo.

My 2003 AWD Vibe with moon & tunes had a buzzing rear speaker (even with stereo off). Not realizing I had an amp under the passenger seat, I had my stereo replaced first. When the buzzing didn't stop, the amp was discovered, removed, and bypassed. The aftermarket JVC had enough juice for the 6 s...
