OK, so I went to RadioShack and got the extra 12 v outlet and took apart the center console. Spliced the red wire on the new outlet to the gray wire on the cig lighter, attached the ground, and tied up the extra wires and body in various spots under the dash. Poof--no wires showing, interchangable, ...

Unfortunately, the Roady's 12v cord is too short to reach the unit. I have it installed in the compartment under the hatch button.

I just installed a RoadyXT yesterday into my 03 Base. But I'm already sick of looking at the 12v adapter that's plugged into the cigarette lighter.
