Re: GM Service Bulletins for the Vibe (Hot Vibe)

I have Document ID# 1357331, given to me by service manager. I did as the document said, replaced the HVAC recirculation door actuator, but my mechanic said that the actuator runs continuously on either recirc or outside air, therefore it will burn out again. I tried another new actuator and the sam...

Re: HVAC actuactor replaced, didn't fix problem (sunny3388)

I've tried two actuators and the problem is the actuator continues to actuate (closes outside air flow) even when the switch is set for outside air. My mechanic said this will burn out the actuator again so we left it disconnected. The problem seems to be in the switch rather than the actuator but I...

Re: (JohnC)

Just saw your post from quite a while ago regarding the "damper door". Is this the one behind the glove box? I just had the actuator for that door replaced as it was "tapping" trying to close. The actuator had been stripped. Two replacement actuators would only activate, i.e., no...

HVAC actuactor replaced, didn't fix problem

Pontiac had a TSB on this problem with recommendation to replace HVAC door actuator that lets outside air into the car. I did this but the noise persists. Mechanic thinks the problem is in the switch that determines recirculated air or fresh air. Has anyone else verified this?

Re: tapping noise - outside air - climate control (meem)

I got ahold of the Technical Service Bulletin (#1357331) and ordered the part from the Pontiac dealer for $47.61. If they do it they would charge about 1 1/2 hours labor. After the part comes in I am going to try and do the work myself. The part is called a HVAC recirculation door actuator, #8897027...

replace recirculate door motor

Has anybody done this themselves? It looks like it might be pretty simple with the golve compartment out of the way. How about cost of the replacement? Thanks!

Re: tapping noise - outside air - climate control (ColonelPanic)

Thanks for the info. I took my glove box out today and could see the foam thingy flapping and tapping. It looks like it would be easy to fix but would need a Shop Service repair manual to trouble shoot and shoot, they only cost $150. I'll see if I can get one thru interlibrary loan.

tapping noise - outside air - climate control

Whenever the climate control is set to receive outside air, there is a steady tapping noise coming from the passenger airbag area. There is no tapping noise when inside air is recirculated. Outside air will be pretty important this winter, would like to get this fixed now. Has anyone else experience...
