I could only hope....but she has abs/traction controll so its a VSS on each wheel.

Only 1 MIL codeP0500 vehicle speed sensor.So I went and drove it.....no speedometer, could this lack of a speed sensor/signal cause the transmission to not shift above second gear? It shifts out of 1st gear pretty much as soon as its moving.

I've bought prior salvage cars in the past and if priced right they are a good deal. I can get this one with <20K miles for 5800$. So of course it could be something worth driving into the ground.....if the tranny issue is something someone might be familiar with.

Do you have full coverage insurance......at this point you need to call them. Your engine is probably toast. My wife is an insurance adjustor and she's deals with this quite frequently. If you had enough water shooting out, that stopped the engine really quick and will have bent somthing bad.
