Re: 205/60R15 vs 195/65R15 (CAN-AWD-VIBE)

My primary concern is my safety in the winter since I can't even get cell phone coverage for half my winter driving (really in the middle of nowhere...). Someone told me the 15" would be a little better for that then that 16" rims and I like the stock rim look for the summer so I'm going t...

205/60R15 vs 195/65R15

Time to buy my first set of winter tires. I'm in Ottawa, Canada and will be driving into the middle of nowhere in Ontario frequently. That means I need decent tires since the stock Vibe 16" ones I have are crap in the snow.I've noticed a number of people going for 195/65R15 tires on 15" wh...

I've got the Belkin generic FM transmitter (just has a standard 1/8 plug on it so plugs into and MP3/CD/etc. player). I find it ok but I don't particularily like FM quality from my MP3s so I'll eventually get a direct input for my head unit (or buy a new head unit).

rust spot removal

I've got a couple of small (1cm in diameter - see attached pic) rust spots on my Vibe that were caused by rocks hitting the paint, chipping it and not being repaired. They were there when I bought my car a month ago. Does anyone have any tips for removing/repairing them? I have a bottle of touch up ...

Post your head-unit pics here

I'd like to get an idea of what various head units look like in the Vibe as I want to get MP3 support in my '04 Vibe and I'm not sure whether to get a whole new head unit or get the external AUX in for my MP3 player. I'd like MP3 CD support (which would require a new head unit) but I definatly requi...

hiding windshield wipers

I bought a pair of reflex blades today from Cdn Tire and after 10mins fighting the driver's wiper to get it on I was quite happy that the drivers wiper now is so low profile that you almost don't see it when it's off. That's grrat but now the passenger-side wiper really sticks out as it's still pret...

looking for a fellow viber

So I'm parking my Vibe at work Fri (don't usually drive to work but Fri was an exception) and there were very few spots available by the time I got there at ~11. So I find a spot and realize that there another blue Vibe right beside me. I took a good look at it and noticed a 'genvibe.com' sticker/de...

where to buy wheels

aside from Canadian Tire, where do people go to buy winter wheel (tire+rim) packages?who has a good selection of 16" rims? I don't want anything expensive, I just don't like hubcaps. (I'll also need wheels as I'm replacing the 17" wheels on the used Vibe I just bought)

Well I definatly notice the roads in Ottawa seem bumpier/rougher in my new Vibe then in the rental cars I used to frequent. A friend at the office thinks I will notice a difference on 16" rims (obviously with a larger sidewall) so I'm trying to guage whether it's worth the eBay hastle to try to...

worth it to go 17" -> 16"?

I'm not really a performance guy and would rather have a smoother ride so I'm thinking of switching from the 17" (brand new, Anyone know approx how much those 17" would be worth on eBay or locally?

Advice Please: Vibe at 115k+

I'm not sure which forum to post to so sorry for the cross-post. I'm looking at buying a 2004 Vibe that has 115,000 km on it. It got a clean bill of health from a mechanic in the 1/2 hour inspection I got but does anyone have any experience with maintenance requirments for the Vibe after 100,000 km ...
