True- I have 38K on the car in just over a year. Changing your driving habits plays a huge role in mpg..stay under 3k on the tach and you should see nice results

Re: New Tires are on (matty77)

Let us know how they are noise wise..I've had 2 sets of Michelins in the past month and they are pretty rough sounding...sound like I have truck tires on(Exalto A/S and HydroEdges)

Tires...break in period?

I just had some Exalto A/S's put on my car and the ride is pretty jittery compared to my HydroEdges....is there a break in period where the tires are getting used to the car, worn in a bit etc before they smooth out? I seem to remember that the more miles I put on the stock Contis and the Edges, the...

Re: (ramenboy...)

Any updates on this? My Matrix has seemed to have gotten that card in the bike wheel spokes sound again. Seems to be loudest when leaving from a stop sign etcI really didn't hear it in a friends Matrix...I thought I had this noise before and it went away when I changed the oil a couple of OIC's ago....

Re: Michelin Hydrodege (matty77)

I have them on my Matrix 205/55 16's.While they do ride pretty smooth the make all sorts of noise...one of the loudest tires I've ever had depending on road surface. On smooth pavement they are pretty good but anything else they sing like a 4x4 and a low speeds they make a whoop whoop whoop sound li...

Re: Goodyear Comfortreds vs. TripleTreds (new05vibeowner)

I had the Comfortreds on for about 2 weeks on my Matrix...I found them to be pretty floaty but pretty quiet and comfortable..well somewhat..never got balanced correctly.I traded them in on some Michelin HydroEdges(similar to Triples) and I loved them for a week....they have slowly gotten very loud a...

Maybe not the same thing here but my 1.8 1zz(Matrix) sounds like a diesel at times...very fast paced ticking while accelerating whether hot or cold...by product of the engine or is this something bad?You know...like you have a baseball card in the spokes of your bike?Is this the valves or injectors ...

Re: 2004 Vibe Tires Not Balancing - Douglas Performance GT-H (djb383)

I just put Comfortreds on my 05 Matrix XR...I originally wanted the Trips but they are a no no with steelies and hubs due to the rim protector Was real sour on the Comfys at first but they are settling in a bit and smoothing out(breaking in?) About 700 miles on em....still may opt for the Triples if...
