I have not tried the rack add-on. I put the bike trays on backwards. The bikes face backwards. No interference with the hatch. I do not know if it is approved or valid or whatever, I have not had a problem.

I would like to have seen that kit. After what I thought was much research, I ended up ordering GM#88969201. That part was replaced by GM#88974274, which I ended up getting for $35.
