Re: snow tire (macman)

I would like to edit my past remarks-the M3 is a ok snow tire, great on dry/wet roads. stinks on ice-got stuck in a lot with a slope to it last night with tires spinning freely.

Re: (jasonvibe)

I have the dunlop M3's, in mild-mod winter conditions the car works great. The suspect w/o snows the car (2wd base) would not be too great on unplowed roads (which I often encounter driving to the hosp. in the early am.) My previous was a VW Golf 1997 which on OEMs was fantastic in the snow. I think...

snow tire

hey folks- just wanted to let you know I put Dunlop Wintersport M3's on and they seem great. Drove to work in the snow the other day and others were literally sliding around and I was on rails. They look great and are pretty quiet. got 'em on alloys (sorry no pics)

Re: (jasonvibe)

where did you find the vikings? I saw consumerreports ratings on them but could not find them. I ended up getting Dunlop wintersport M3's from tirerack but still want snows for my subbie. Thanks

bigger tires change gearing?

what tire diameter can the vibe handle? I am wondering if a bigger tire will increase the gearing and provide lower revs on the highway yielding better MPG?any thoughts?

Re: new owner-need input from forum (goodvibrations)

thats possible...the sound only occurs with hard acceler at medium speeds when engine/exhaust noises are at their peak anyway. Sound not noticiable on highway when going up hills/etc. when pinging should also occur. I guess I am paranoid since I bought this car w/ 2500 miles, a past rental car, and ...

new owner-need input from forum

hey guys (and girls)- I did do a search with no luck to my specific problem. Just bought a 05 2wd Base w/ 2500 miles, AT. Is it expected / OK to have engine pinging/clicking/ticking w/ hard acceleration? My search here yielded many threads on idle noises (no prob on mine), noises when shifting (no pr...
