Yep, that would have been my car, could have been me driving too!! We go down there every so often taking people to parties at the lake or into the reserve. My town is about 60km to the north. As you can see in the pic in the first post, all my cars have the sticker on the rear window with my compan...

I talked to the dealer and the only solution they have is to replace the cluster for $650+labor...lol!The first digit likely is an "8" since it has to display a "1" and a "2" anyways, so the limitation is in the electronics that run the odometer. Some overpaid bean-coun...

Here ya go:I talked with the service supervisor at the GM dealership and he's going to check if there are any bulletins on this issue. They're also going to scan the OBD to see is there is anything they can do in there.

Re: Odometer limit=299,999 !!!

I'll get a shot of the odometer later today.joatmon, I still need the trip odometer, my cars don't have meters because we charge a flat rate within city limits and per km out of town. I think I'll put a note on the speedometer not to reset "trip B", the drivers can still use "trip A&q...

Odometer limit=299,999 !!!

I own a fleet of 8 taxis including 3 Vibes, an 03 and two 04's. I thought some of you might find it interesting to know that the odometer on these cars stops dead at 299,999. I'm in Canada so of course that's in kilometers and is approximately 186k miles. I was driving my 03 a few days ago and was w...

9 times out of 10 Amsoil will substantially thicken with use. I had it happen in my 03 Vibe even with a dual remote bypass. It was well into the 40 weight range by 7000 miles. But it has yet to be shown that the thickening hurts performance. Wear numbers remain very low. Personally I wouldn't leave ...

Nope, just regular replacement bulbs. The passenger side is melted as well but not quite as bad likely because there's more airflow on that side. I'll try tightening the connecter next time.

Melted headlight connecters?

Has anyone else noticed that the plastic connecters that plug onto the headlight bulbs are slowly melting? I noticed this the first time I changed a headlight bulb and it's progressively gotten worse. Now yesterday it finally got bad enough that the drivers side low beam doesn't work unless I wiggle...

I found the drain plug in the block of my 03 auto. It's on the firewall side of the engine, directly up from the inner CV boot. You need to be under the car quite a ways to be able to see it. A flashlight or trouble light will help too. It's got a tube that you can attach a rubber hose 5/16-3/8"...

Well I installed everything and nothing unusual was found. The belt, plugs and rear brakes were still in pretty good shape and still useable after 200,000km. Pretty impressive if you ask me. I may even extend this service to 250,000km depending on how long these cars last.At the same time I changed ...

If you go to GM they will put Dexcool in it, that's a certainty. It's not something to be concerned about since it's a complete changeover and the 2 coolants won't be mixing. Contrary to popular opinion there's nothing wrong with Dexcool.I'll be doing a flush on my 03 shortly and installing Dexcool....

12 people. 1 driver, 3 in the passenger seat, 5 in the back seat and 3 in the hatch. I run a taxi service with my Vibes and we get this type of thing all the time, usually drunk teenagers at 3am with 50 cents each in their pocket.

Re: Went down to the GM parts counter..... (michaelgt)

This will be the first time for the plugs, rear brakes, coolant and belt. I'm really interested to see the condition of the plugs. My other vehichles use double platinums and I only get 100,000km out of them. The Vibe still runs great so these new Iridiums must really work. The front brakes have been...

Went down to the GM parts counter.....

I ordered some maintenance parts for my 03 Vibe today. She's just about to cross 200,000km or 124,000 miles so I thought I'd replace the spark plugs, belt, rear brakes, coolant and other misc. things. Well I must have been the first one in Canada to order plugs and rear brake drums/shoes because my ...

Re: People wil burn!!! (Merzbow)

Lots of ebay sellers put up auctions for stuff they don't actually own. The items are drop shipped from the manufacturer so the seller never sees them. That's how these guys can sell stuff for a couple dollars over cost. It's works pretty good most of the time, except in situations like yours. The se...

Yep, when it's really cold outside we just leave them run all day and all night. If we shut them off for any length of time, it takes too long to warm the interior back up and customers don't like to pay for a ride in a cold car. The red Vibe pictured above is on duty 24/7/365, so in the winter mont...

192,000km=119,000 miles That's quite a bit for a 2 year old car, but I doubt it's the highest one around.I think "kilometrage" is actually a word, but it's just too wierd to say it out loud..lol. So most of us metric folk still say "mileage" when the need arises. Most Canadians l...

Cross drilled and/or slotted rotors can't be turned, only replaced. If they arn't gouged up or warped it's probably the pads that are causing the noise.

Multiple Vibe owner saying hello!

Hi! I'm new to forum but not to the Vibe, just posting to introduce myself. My name is Bryce, I'm 31 and own 3 Vibes: a red 03, silver 04 and a black 04. All 3 are base model automatics. I'm from Saskatchewan, Canada and own a small taxi company in which the Vibes are employed. They work along side ...
