Re: Worth trading up to a Vibe GT?

I found a 03 trix xrs with 129 on the odo for about $3.4k, but I just can't get with the styling of the trix. To me, it looks way too much like an actual wagon/van. Maybe its the fenders on the vibe that make it look that much more sporty?

slammed/bagged vibe pics?

Has anyone got a good example of a slammed or bagged (stanced) vibe? Im curious to see how they look. The lower the better! I'm thinking about putting a 2" drop on my 06.

Re: Worth trading up to a Vibe GT?

I like the 03/04 front way more and I thought it would be a good way to get more power and start squeezing more from my car at a higher starting point. I am the exact opposite, give me an 05+ any day. If your car is Abyss black and the front is in great shape, I'll trade you. As for the power, I ow...

Worth trading up to a Vibe GT?

Hey all, I currently drive a 2006 vibe base model, with an automatic transmission. However, I want to get something a bit more peppy. Considering that the GT has around 50-60 more HP than the base model, is it really a noticeable difference? Would anybody recommend that trading up would be a good id...

Re: Rusted Calipers- brake failure?

So as an update, the car is now running normally. The pads I had ordered came in today, and naturally, As I went to install them, another problem closely ensued. The previous mechanic I went to (first mentioned in this post) had tightened the lug nuts WAAY too tight- and I had a stud on both my fron...

Re: Rusted Calipers- brake failure?

Thanks for your replies guys. I do feel a slight pulsation when I brake, but only when Im braking rather harshly. Which, for now, I haven't been doing since my pads have been grinding. Ive ordered pads that are coming in friday and hopefully this should fix the issue. If I still have an issue ill re...

Rusted Calipers- brake failure?

Hey all, So Ive started to notice a grind/ crunching noise when braking lightly at low speeds. The moment I got home I checked the pads (and of course). The front left pad is starting to show signs of wear. Although Id be happy to change them out myself my mother was adamant that I got them checked ...

Aftermarket tail lights?

Hey all, so I found some rear taillights that I thought would look pretty good on my 06 vibe. However, they are for the matrix and Im not sure if they will fit, even though they're the exact same car. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/371272952834?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=S...

Re: Muffler unbolt- performance gains?

My muffler unbolt has been the only thing Ive done to the car so far in terms of tampering with the car aside from some fresh headlights and a different radio. Im usually very wary of any modifications and do my research (my dad has a mustang that Ive helped him modify for the past 3-4 years and Ive...

thanks guys, I may end up just upgrading to something speedier. Ironically, I find myself broken down on the side of the road more often than most people I know, lol

Re: Muffler unbolt- performance gains?

Thanks for all the input guys, however Im not particularly seasoned with modifying cars, so Im trying some things to get more driving pleasure on my tight college budget. Im looking at headers, I just ordered a short ram and I want to get a tune or chip but can't find anything that would be mildly s...

Muffler unbolt- performance gains?

I recently unbolted the muffler on my 06 vibe (base model). Ive been told that this can provide some extra power+ helps the engine breath a bit better. It also sounds great!

Re: This vibe is killing....well, my vibe!

Yeah, the bolts were really in there! The mechanic (who's a friend of mine) was telling me that he broke a good 6 or 7 drill bits before they could get the suckers out! The battery, in my theory was just too old. i wouldn't have thought that it would be cold enough to freeze the battery over in flor...

Re: This vibe is killing....well, my vibe!

Thanks for the warm welcomes, guys. My car is the 2006 1.8L base model, and When it was bought it had 177k on the odo. it currently has 192k and I took her to a shop since the research I did for this issue made it clear that i didnt have the tools or the expertise to remove the bolts. Charged me $17...

This vibe is killing....well, my vibe!

So Ill admit- I was dubious when I was first presented with the car that all my hard earned money had got me. My parents decided to surprise me with a car I didnt know even existed. I had recieved the car at the start of my senior year in high school and I wasnt particularly fond of it- I wanted a c...
