Re: Low beams only out suddenly! What could be wrong?

Well, nevermind...

Turns out the low beam on both bulbs must have been bad. I bought one new lightbulb and put it in at lunch just to see, and it works.

I looked at the old bulbs carefully to see if the filament was toasted, and it looks fine, so i guess visual inspection is not good enough.

Low beams only out suddenly! What could be wrong?

I was driving around a couple evenings ago and realized I had no headlights... I thought it was strange that both would go at once, so i got under the hood and investigated the fuses. I tried changing out any headlight related ones with no luck. Then I decided to try the high beams just for the heck...

Re: Finally a good Fix! (Window Bezel)

Dave, you are a god among men.

Finally got around to doing this to my vibe today. Took 10 mins, no more janky control panel, and Sunday afternoon screwdrivers to celebrate with the OJ I bought just for this.

Thanks again!

Re: Is the window seal for the Vibe and Matrix the same?

Just replaced both of mine this last week. Bought them both from Conicelli Partznet . Paid just under $108 for both driver and passenger side after free shipping and 10% coupon code. Just thought i'd revive this and add a bit of information... I'm about to order left and right front from this place...

Re: Install log for new speakers, amp, and head unit (M&T)

Thanks for the write-up. How does it sound now? How do you like the deck. I am looking at that one as well but waiting for a little more income as I just bought my vibe. Sounds good! The clarity and volume from the front speakers is really decent, especially for 60$ speakers. At first I was a bit d...

Fix for rattling instrument cluster bezel.

I'm quickly learning that these things are rattle traps, so i feel like its a bit futile hunting down every single rattle, but this one was obvious, and more importantly, i could isolate it. When i pushed on the trim around the gauges, the rattle / buzz stopped. So I decided to try to stop it. The t...

Install log for new speakers, amp, and head unit (M&T)

Howdy... When I was searching for info on this "moons and tunes" package, there was enough, but it wasn't all in one place, so I figure I'll do my part and add what I learned in my process. My goal was to improve sound quality without going crazy running new wires, and without spending a t...

Yeah, I would have preferred amsoil from the recommendations on here, but i couldn't find any locally, and I felt like doing it right away. Royal purple was the best i could find.

Re: 03 AWD Clunking sound from back when starting accelerati

Sweet. Thanks a lot man. I guess my CV joints are good enough for now, but ill keep an eye/ear on em. And ill keep checking for leaks on that diff too. It looks like it hadn't leaked a drop in its life, or may have had new seals, and i put new royal purple synthetic in it, so hopefully it stays legit.

Re: 03 AWD Clunking sound from back when starting accelerati

SOLVED! Thanks for all your help man. I finished up the diff fluid change and set her back down, and drove around the neighborhood starting and stopping like a creep. The sound was still there and it sounded interior, like there was something kicking around in the spare tire well. So I took the spar...

Re: 03 AWD Clunking sound from back when starting accelerati

I've got the car up on stands right now changing the diff fluid. Didnt look like it was leaking one bit. The drive shaft feels stable and unmovable. This my first time even touching CV arms/joints, but I'm suspicious that they might be the culprits. If I grab the arm and wiggle it, it has movement (...

Yep... i was thinking the same thing with the fluids. Carfax said last tranny flush was at 86k along with a serp belt, then a coolant and power steering flush at 105k, along with spark plugs and front brakes. Gotta love people that get their car serviced regularly at the dealership. Sure is nice see...

Re: Potential Nexus 7 In Dash Project

First, your images are broken.

Second, which version of nexus 7? I hear the 2012 version is better than the new one for car use.

Are you going to still have a head unit, or just run the nexus 7 straight to an amp?

Will it be permanent or removable?

03 AWD Clunking sound from back when starting acceleration.

Just picked up this car, and have been doing a lot of research. It appears the AWD can be problematic if it runs low on fluid, but the reported symptoms of this don't seem to match my sound. I first noticed that starting and stopping at stoplights there was a slight knock/rattle/thunk in the back so...

New Vibe owner... Howdy! (03 AWD)

I've owned about 5-6 cars in my life now, and this is the latest! Its become habit for me to stalk the forums of a car before I purchase it, then become an active member once I pull the trigger, so here I am! I've had my eye on Vibes for a while now, I always thought they looked pretty nice, once I ...

Re: Aftermarket head unit installed bypass factory amplifier

Nice install! What head unit is that? Its good to know a bit more about that amp wiring under there. I was wondering if the front speakers had two wire pairs per door, or if they were wired together. Good to know that i can re-use that wiring and put the crossovers under the seat for a component set...
