starter installation

I need to replace the starter in my 04 vibe. Is this something that someone with average mechanical abilities can do themselves?

Plastic Wheel Well lining

Does anyone know if the plastic wheel well liner is available from any other source than the dealer? I was quoted $98.00 from the dealer for my 04 Vibe. The thing is about as flimsy as plastic from a laundry detergent bottle! Also, has anyone had to replace this? Is it difficult to do yourself? Than...

Re: Rock the car - squeak, squeak, squeak (thermometer)

Mine does that as well. It is most pronounced when the car is on an incline. I will have to check out the body mount suggestion.

Shocking!

I have been having a big problem with static electricity when exiting my Vibe. I'm not sure if it is the fabric on the seats or what. I don't have this problem with my other vehicle. Is there something I can do to rid the electric charge besides touching metal (ouch!) or is it just my "electric...

Automatic Tranny question

When braking while driving down hills, the automatic transmission shifts into a lower gear (RPM's increase) and will not shift back up unless I slow down to about 20 mph. If I try to accelerate it remains in the lower gear. I don't recall this happening in my other vehicles or at least not as pronou...

Re: Starting problem (Mavrik)

Mavrik,The weather the first time was in the upper thirties, and the last time it was 45 - 50 degrees. We have had some really cold temps this winter (single digits) and it started like a champ. Lowell

Starting problem

About 2 months ago I had a problem with my vibe not wanting to start. It would sluggishly turn over but not start. After about 5 -6 tries it would eventually turn over. The dealer tested the battery and it was fine. This happened again two days ago and has been fine since. It doesn't seem to be rela...

Spray or dribble?

The rear windshield washer on my vibe just "dribbles" washer fluid on the window. Is this the norm, or should it actually "spray" out?

Scalloped rear tires

I noticed the other day after having my tires rotated that the inside edge of my rear tires (now on the front) are beginning to scallop. The tires that were on the front appear to be fine. They have about 25,000 miles on them. Any one else have this problem or know what might cause this? Thanks.Lowell
