I hauled a new, queen size memory foam mattress in it. Had to fold the mattress in half and used tie downs to hold it together. With the front seat folded down it encroached a little into the drivers side but not bad. After the 3 hour drive where I was going it was worse than I expected but I got it...

Hi Justin, Sorry I don't have a fix for you but mine is the same as your's. Broken. I'll be interested to see if anyone has an easy fix for you, er, us. LOL I've tried to find a replacement at a local junk yard but. I considered ordering a new one but don't want to pay that much. Good luck and have ...

Got my Cabin Filter(s) in the mail today. Swapped it out in about 5 minutes. Old one was nasty - with 135k miles on the car not sure when it was changed last. No more 'fogging' when I first turn on the defrost anymore! whoo hoo!

Finally got the dipstick - the shop 'lost' my contact info. Good thing I called yesterday to check on it. I won't be having them do the flush... Will do it myself.

Yeah, LarryKingsShoes, I will be sure and post the 'underseat' install info when I do it. The amp I'm putting in is pretty small and only about 2" high. I'll try and take some pics and measurements when I do. I like having a changer too. Especially for long road trips. Oh, also, I got my Kenwoo...

I just ordered the Cabin filter from Amazon (TYC 800038P) they were $8 each - to get free shipping I ordered two cabin filters and two air filters ($8.54 each) so the order total was over $25... Not bad although it will take awhile to get them.

Oh yeah, the CD changer I will install isn't helping my amp location search! LOL. Yep, I'm old school with the changer. Funny, it was hard to find a new changer. Kenwood was the only company I found that still sold head units and changers...

Installing aftermarket amp - best location??

Going to be installing and aftermarket amp into my 'Base' Vibe. It did not have M & T so no factory amp. What's the best location to install the new one? It is a small, 2 channel amp (Kenwood KAC526 IIRC). I DON'T want to install it under the Passenger seat because I will have my CD Changer unde...

Ok, sounds good. Thanks for the feedback! I just talked with their Assistant manager - he said they'll have to special order the new dipstick from Michigan and it's a week out. In the meantime they'll 'plug' it so nothing else gets in there. He again offered a 'flush/fill' when the new parts in but ...

Ok, great - thanks for the info VibeBear! As for 2) I don't have a factory amp but will be installing an aftermarket one during this install. So, I'll connect the Amp Turn on lead wire from the amp to the Blue/white on the Kenwood harness. Thanks again! Can't wait to get it in there.

Installing new head unit - clarification on wiring (Illum/Remote Turn on/Ground)

Howdy gang, I'm finally getting ready to install a new Kenwood head unit in my Vibe. Can't wait to have BT, USB and so on! Anyway, I had a question on the wire harness. I bought it at Crutchfield so I have the supplied Wire harness from them. I haven't done any stereo installs for a long time and wa...

Lube shop lost my tranny dipstick - what to do next?

Hey gang, I know I shouldn't trust those 'lube shops' and here's a great example why. I was in hurry a couple weeks back and overdue for an oil change. Went to a local shop to have it changed. Another customer was there with the same first name - he wanted a tranny service/flush, air filter and oil ...

Thanks for the info Blanco... I'll check it out. I can get a good price on the Metra 'Ballistic' brand but I'm not sure about the quality there. Anyone try that brand yet? I'll see if anyone else chimes in and price out the Second skin products. Thanks again and have a good one!

to sound deaden Front/Rear doors or not?

I know there are quite a few audio pro's on here. I enjoy all the posts! Figured I'd run this question by all of you. I'm going to replace the front (with Pioneer TS-GS1643R) and rear door speakers (JVC CSHX638) very soon. Both sets are 6 1/2's BTW. While I'm at it I thought about 'sound deadening' ...

Ok, thanks for the info KITT and AUDIO. I will do some more checking about the 6 X 9 rear hatch install but agree with Audio. I should probably just go with a sub. Speaker install in hatch door - anyone done it?

Hi everyone, new to the Forum! So much great info already. I was wondering if anyone has installed speakers (I've got a set of 6 X 9 Pioneers) in the rear hatch door? Is there room? If so, how did you do it and do you have pics? If that doesn't work, I'm considering building a couple custom boxes fo...
