Mazda 3 --the Mazda Vibe, more like it

I see that Mazsa is fielding a competitor to the VIbe--the Mazda 3. It looks an awful lot like the VIbe, but it may leapfrog this generation. It comes with a 2.3 L 4 banger, and stiff sport suspension. If I'd waited a couple of months, I might've had a hard decision toi make. Alas I have a vibe, and...

I just don't get it--I look at the numbers and see that it buys you maybe 4-5 HP to get a CAI. Why is that worth it? I'm the first to admit I know next to nothing about mods, or performance driving, but it seems like a waste of time and money to get a couple of percent increase in performance. How c...

I have two ways: I put in a Pioneer DEHP550MP HU--plays MP3's and WMA's on CD. I also wired in a 1/8" female plud installed in a blank plastic button cover I swapped in by the emergency brake (where the coin holder was). It's wired into the back ofthe Pioneer as an Aux.BTW, A replacement button...

Second question is whether any of those chips on Ebay actually work--and if I can do CAI and chip to boost HP?

OK--I'm ignorant. I live in Nashville where it's rainy, and don't want to trash my car to gain a few HP. If the odds of hydrolock are down to the lightning strike level, that's probably OK, but if they're up around the odds of getting hit by a cop's radar gun, I'll opt out.--Splash

OK I agree with you pretty much but:A. I'm a wimp and my wife trumped me, and...B. It's moot because I'm the proud owner of an 04 Vibe (Neptune, M&T, ABS).I love the car, just looking for low overhead ways ot improve performance--spark plugs, modules...I'm a little paranoid on the hydrolock pote...

Re: Highly recommend these 3 performance upgrades, TY forum for the great info!! (scherry2)

I have a hard time messing with my month old car, especially with a new warranty. WIll the spark plugs alone make a difference? I have a 2004 base vibe, auto (my personal preference would've been the GT route, but my daughter will be driving soon, and I figured auto is the way to go for her...)Also,...

Tjh answer to my problems is: Wal-mart, belienve it or not.WHen I hooled the pre-outs from my Pioneer DEHP550MP to the amp I got a pop--likely a power spike that got amped...I bought a Scosche FAI3 for $17 that let me hook my HY speaker out firectly to my GM harness that feeds the amp. Well worth it.

Help! New HU thumps when I change stations

I installed a new Pioneer HU. WIred the preouts to my factory 200W amp (Moons and tunes). WHen I change sources or stations I get a sharp thump through the speakers. Does anyone know the cause and better yet, a solution? One hint--I use an old RCA speaker cable to splice into the harness fromthe preo...

FM Modulator CD changer--sound good or bad?

I was looking for the least intrusive upgrade for my Vibe. DO the remote changers that use FM modulators sound very good? Better than normal FM?
