Thanks for the tip. What a really crappy design. Cannot figure out why they didn't go with a plastic threaded screw in, screw out assembly. The bulb surprisingly holds pretty well with just the rubber boot over it, so I'll try some JB or some RTV and go from there.

Replacing headlight bulb on passenger side of my 07' Vibe and removed the retaining clip. I didn't use much pressure at all, the unit hinged out a bit and came out easily. I then went to reinstall the headlight bulb and there was a broken small piece of plastic that the metal wire retaining clip use...
