Re: HVAC actuactor replaced, didn't fix problem (meem)

Did you ever get the tapping sound fixed? My '04 developed the same problem about 2 months ago. I ordered the part and am trying to figure out how to replace the unit. However, it appears to a very involved process to gain access to the mounting screws - possibly requiring the removal to the passeng...

Thanks for the info Psychobroker. I'd be interested in hearing how your replacement goes. One question: where do you get your work done here in LA? The mechanic that I go to for big stuff decided to close down early this year. Thanks and stay cool this weekend. it's gonna be a scorcher.

6 puck? 4 puck? performance disc? what's the diff?

So at about 61k miles, my clutch is starting to go on my base 5 spd. After doing some aftermarket research, there seems to be different types of clutch discs available. What's the difference other than price? I tend to be a pretty aggressive driver - downshift a lot more than I really should, but do...

longest driven w/ gas warning light on?

So coming home over the weekend from a desert road trip, I notice that my low gas warning light is on about 5 miles from the next gas station. When I got close to the offramp, I got distracted somehow and completely missed the exit. The next gas was unfortunately ~30 miles away. Needless to say, I w...

Actually, when I special ordered my Vibe in Feb. (pretty much same as yours 'cept in satellite). 6 weeks later, GM *lost* the my car as well. Except in my case, the car was shipped to the dealership and was waiting on the lot. Since the dealer couldn't technically sell me a car that didn't exist, he...

Actually, I had the same problem with rattling in the back over bumps. I tracked it down to the roof rack where I found that the screw down nobs were loose. The crossmember was bumping up and down along the track and the vibrations were being transmitted into the interior

I have the XM option - the plug in the right quarter panel is attached to a metal box. I assume this is the XM receiver.

Re: help regarding exterior molding clips! (Salsa!)

Well, the problem is I scratched the car AT the dealership with the dealer WATCHING. I was backing out of the parking spot and getting used to the clutch let out, and suddently i hear a loud "SCREECH". I looked up and saw that I had hit a pole. Never felt more embarrassed in my life. The o...

help regarding exterior molding clips!

Hi,Well, I scratched up the left quarter panel molding 5 minutes after I bought my car (talk about a bad day). To make a long story short, I found a replacement piece from a junkyard and have been trying to install it over the weekend. I ran into a problem with removing the retaining clips. They're ...

Re: Just ordered a Vibe - concerned about paint issues ... (tots)

You can always try 3M Paint Protection Film. http://cms.3m.com/cms/US/en/2-168/czrRFFU/view.jhtmlI was looking at it for my celica before I sold it. (If you want to talk about a rock magnet, that would be it) It's a clear urethane based plastic film that's applied like car window tint. Just apply a ...
