Just another data point. We took delivery of our 2004 GT in the fall of 2003. 137k miles (new clutch at 127k miles), still on the stock battery.Last winter I kept it on a charger/desulfator each night, but you can tell that it is wearing down. The battery in my 2003 truck just completely failed, so ...

114,238 miles, clutch started to slip under heavy acceleration. That's maybe 50k less than what we are used to getting out of a clutch, but not too bad. About 900 bucks to put a new one in.

We've had that same AC compressor noise.. it comes and goes. The dealer bozos can never hear it, but at least it documented in the service files 3 or 4 times now.

Rear wiper/washer

The rear wiper control has two ways to get washer fluid, one is with the wipers all the way on you turn it a little more. The other is with the wipers off, you turn in the direction of 'off'.The problem is, you would expect the 'off wash' function to cycle the wiper blade a few times, it doesn't, it...

This is a great idea! I'm 5'11", keep the seat all the way back.. I've noticed this several times, you really have to mash the clutch to the floor.I'll be adding a bumper on mine this weekend. Thanks!

Re: Please offer your advice? About to buy a vibe and torn .... (SgrPlum)

Get the base and a set of Blizzaks (4!) for the winter. We lived in upstate NY for about 10 years, and while I always had a 4 wheel drive, it was only because I _had_ to go all the time (Firefighter/EMT). Otherwise NYS does an awesome job of keeping the roads passable for a regular car.

Re: De-tuned Vibe GT (silverawd26)

Right, S/C or GT, that's exactly what I started thinking. Both are going to need 93 octane, so I'll probably just take it in the shorts for the 7 hp loss and get the GT. The rear discs are very preferable to me.I was planning on either a Borla or TRD cat-back and a CAI anyhow. Hindsight is 20/20, sh...

De-tuned Vibe GT

Anyone know the scoop on why the 04 Vibe GT is rated at 173 HP , while the 04 Matrix XRS is still at the full 180 HP ?Dealership has not a clue, and it was actually news to the sales droid that it had gone down 7 HP.

9/3 incentives ??

Right now the 0% financing is on 2003 Vibes only. I'm having a hard time finding any 03's on the lot that have what we want (GT, moon/tunes, painted trim, power stuff, side airbags, salsa).Anyone have an educated guess on whether they'll offer the 0% financing on the 04's any time soon?Thanks!/Curt
