GTP motor in Vibe?????

Has anyone ever thought of transplanting GTP motor in the Vibe. They already do this to Cavaliers so I am wondering if this could be done. I know it would be tight but if it fits, it could be made to work. I would think this would be a cheaper option in the long run compared to a turbo setup.Just wo...

They need to offer aftermarket/hotter cams to add naturally asperated power to these cars.

Re: Dual Exhaust! Check it Out... (silverawd26)

How does the car sound with the cut oout open? Does it have a high or low pich to it, and does it sound like one of the coffe can exhaust? What did you use to cut out the passenger side bumper? Duals look but you are esessentially running a straight pipe when you have the cut out open. I want to eli...

Re: Best price on K&N drop in (dcyco1)

Well actually I may be wrong! After looking at your engine picks it looks the same as mine. If the sensor disconnects from the box the I would be wrong and the sensor would just have to be move onto the pipe with the bung on it to mount it. I am use to stand alone MAF's that are on f-body cars.Chris

Re: Best price on K&N drop in (ragingfish)

The snake silence tube that i was talking about will be very hard to see. It actually goes all the way up around behind the drivers side headlight. At that point it is easiest to see since it wraps around the battery and in the air box.

Re: Your Vibe "wander" alot at X-way speeds? Have Continentals? (cohocarl)

My tires are at 37 psi and that was from the factory and I have no problems at all with wandering. Be awre of the roads uou drive on they may see alot of truck traffic and that will cause ruts. Not huge one like in dirt but enought to make your car wander. The bigger the tire the worse it gets.chris

Re: Best price on K&N drop in (ragingfish)

Sorry I don't have digital camera. But it is really obvious if just look at you can see that the MAF is attached to filter lid. As far opening up the intake track I remove the silencer snake (which really has alot of bends and narrows down to about 1.5" in diameter a one point) and added more h...

Re: Power Steering "oil" low (huy397)

You are right about the warranty issue, but for something like the power steering you do not have to worry. Not like he replaced it with a manual rack. Even with aftermarket parts installed such as CAI the dealer has to prove that it responsible for casuing another part to fail. Lots of dealer like ...

Hopefully your steering rack is not leaking, and it probably isn't. You don't have to pay anything since it is under warranty.Chris

How does your car ride with those springs, compared to stock. Did you change your struts and shocks at the same time? Just curious what the trade offs are.Chris

Re: Cams for base Vibe? (dcyco1)

I hope toyota TRD or some other after market company offers these, or will be in the future. I think this would be a great alternative to boost power with low cost and great reliability. I am hoping since I don't now many aftermarket tunners fro these cars.

Re: Best price on K&N drop in (pissedoffgokart)

Is the 03 filter the sme size as the 04? How much is the amsoil filter. For the cost of the intake kits and the horsepower gained I decided to do my own set up. If anyone wants details on how I am making it feel free to ask. Intake companies have a real challenge for themselves to make a intake kit ...

Re: Is Roof Rack Removeable? (millster)

Cna't be that hard to remove. Even with the holes there are good solutions to them. 1. Stainless steel screws.bolts to fill them. 2. Some one can make some plate that canbe screwed in to cove the area. just a couple of ideas.

Newbie Here

I just picked up a 2004 base Vibe witha 5 speed. I am pretty familiar with modding so I have already begun. I already created a home made intake, just need to get a new K&N replacement air filter and it will be complete. I have a feeling the 04 intake kits are going to be real expensive since th...
