What kind of insurance do you have ArcsVibe? If you have full coverage, then a stone hitting your windshield should be covered. I had my Vibe for three weeks when the same thing happened. The split when damn near across the whole windshield. My insurance picked up the cost for me though, and my prem...

Re: i got it! (bishc21)

It seems to me that a lot of people here on genvibe had to wait weeks or months to get their Vibe. Did anyone get their Vibe quickly?Back in June of '03 when I went to my dealership, my wife and I were extremely specific in what we wanted: Abyss Vibe GT with M&T, Power Package, in-dash CD change...

The idea seems cool. Non-Vibers think the idea of both of us owning the same car is stupid and a waste of money. They just don't understand! Neither one of us have driven the '04 yet. I suppose we will soon. I seriously doubt that there is a difference in the way it drives. Like I noted earlier, I b...

I posted this thread a while back, and I wanted to give a small update. The MD area has been caked in ice as of late, so I was afraid of trying to achieve lift. As the ice began to melt, I gave it a shot. The highest I ever got the Vibe in first gear was 3500 rpm. I got it up to about 7500 rpm. I fel...

Oh yeah, one quick addition. She is hung up on the fact that the '03 has seven more horses than the '04. I tried to explain that the '04 gets better gas mileage, but that didn't seem to matter.

Thanks for the info ragingfish. My wife doesn't have a problem with the '04 per se, but she figures that she can pay a cheaper price for a new '03, since dealers should be trying to get rid of them. With the '05s not too far away, her logic doesn't seem faulty. If we happen into the area raging fish, ...

My wife is really interested in getting a monotone Satellite Vibe GT. The thing is she wants an '03 model - she has no desire for an '04 or the upcoming '05. We are down in MD, so taking a drive up to NJ to get one of those wouldn't be out of the question. Where exactly is this dealership?

Although I rarely go south to the DC Metro area, my wife works around there. Chances are if you ever see my Vibe on the road, it'll be her driving around. We've been looking for a Mid-Atlantic meet so I can meet all the other Vibers around here. I'll pop into the forum every once in a while to get d...

Thanks for the advice trdvibe. Although I planned on sitting in for the night, I am now fighting the urge to just jump in the Vibe and try that out! Feeling the lift and other stick Qs

I've had my Vibe GT for a little over half a year. It is my first stick, and I love the feeling of control the manual transmission gives me. Getting into an automatic feels like I am just steering the car, and not actually driving it.On to my questions. I have read the term "lift" used in ...

When I went to the Pontiac dealership in Silver Spring back in May, I was *very* picky. It HAD to be monotone, it HAD to have a sunroof, it HAD to have 17" tires - you get the idea. After I told the dealer what I wanted, he said, "Give me a minute".A few minutes later, he said that he...

I had LoJack installed on my Vibe w/i a week of purchasing her. I think I paid $300 for installation, or something like that. As it was stated above, LoJack is theft recovery. The idea seemed silly to me until my Altima was stolen from in front of my apartment building. I would have given anything t...

Re: How many Vibes do you see everyday ( on average )? (huy397)

Here in the Baltimore MD area, the only Vibe I've seen with any consistancy is a woman who works in the building I work in. She's got a Shadow Base Vibe (I can tell - I studied her car quite a bit when purchasing mine).Other than that one, I could go as long as a week before seeing a Vibe. Not like ...

Welcome ArcsVibe!I haven't seen too many things for the Vibe in stores here in MD, but then again, I really haven't been looking that hard. I'm not sure if it is easier to find things for the Vibe here than in Canada.

How would I go about burning the clutch? Is that when I have both the clutch and the accelerator pushed down? Doesn't the owner's manual say the top speed is 140? I could have sworn it said that, or some internet review of the car said that. Either way, I bet you could've hit 140 if that cop wasn't there.

I'm gonna sound like an idiot describing this, b/c I don't know the correct terminology, but here I go:You know that thin, hard rubber thingy on all foor doors? This is what she looks like: One thing that really drew me to this car is how few of them there are on the road - at least here in MD. I have told many people that I was going to replace my Altima (which was wrecked in an accident) with a Pontiac Vibe. The most common reaction I got was, "A wha...
