quote:Mine was the same way, until I DISCONNECTED the damned thing!!! Pop the sensor out (it just snaps in) and UNPLUG IT! Then put it back. I tied the wire and plug to the bottom before I put it back so it wouldn't rattle, and so I could reconnect it if I ever wanted to. (As if.....)I now know what...

Re: electrochromatic compass mirror for 2004 vibe? (korgull)

The Mazda 6 uses the same mounting button on the windshield. The Vibe mirror is secured with a screw. Tha Mazda mirror uses a clip (basically, a spring tab that puts pressure against the button as you slide the mirror on). No adapters needed, simply remove the screw from the stock mirror, slide it o...

Re: electrochromatic compass mirror for 2004 vibe? (ColonelPanic)

Yep, switched power and ground are all you need. I had previously spliced into the cigarette lighter plug power lead when I wired up my radar detector, so I used this same power source for the mirror. I ran the mirror wiring up the pass. side A pillar and under the front edge of the headliner over t...

1) Need lights on the door controls2) One touch down on the front passenger window3) Acc. power after removing key until door is opened (the Corvette has spoiled me...)4) Leather interior option5) Forget about relocating the auto headlamp sensor, just get rid of it6) Cigarette lighter that is powere...

Re: electrochromatic compass mirror for 2004 vibe? (Herb)

I just installed one in my car last week. I bought the one for a Mazda 6, it uses the same mount. It doesn't have the map lights. Install was a snap.http://www.mazdastuff.com/product.cfm?ProductID=1297

Re: Taking down the headliner (ragingfish)

The seat belts do have a torque spec in the manual. I think it was around 40 ft-lbs, if you need to know exactly, I can look it up for you.Once the liner is out, everything is accessible. Installing my XM antenna is exactly why I had the headliner out. I mounted the antenna at the trailing edge of t...

Re: Taking down the headliner (ragingfish)

It's a molded fiberboard. It is pretty stiff, but if you don't get everything out of the way and you start torquing on it, you can buckle it pretty easy.

Re: Taking down the headliner (michiganwhitetail)

I just did this on Saturday. It is actually not difficult. A pillar trim must come off, it just pops off. The Upper center pillar trim must come off. Remove the front and rear door sills, and then the lower trim (these pieces all just pull off). Pop the cover off the upper seat belt anchor, and remo...

Re: Anybody have their headliner out? (silverawd26)

My plan is to mount the XM antenna on the roof right behind the factory antenna. Then, I am going to put a small grove in the base of the factory antenna to accept the XM wire (and seal it back up with a bit of black RTV), and then run the XM wire right along side the factory antenna lead (which I a...
