I have been in contact with Clutchmasters recently in order to find out for sure, and without any doubt, that we can use the same clutch as they make for the Celicas (7th Gen) in our Vibes and Matrices. By all rights we should, but hopefully by Friday we will know for sure. Anyone have any experience with clutchmasters? I was told by a friend that they are one of the best.

I haven't had any experience with Clutchmasters but I've also heard plenty of good things about them. Just FYI, ACT has listed 6 different clutches (street to full race) for the Matrix/Vibe on their website for a year or so. Official word from clutchmasters:jason , it the same kit as the late models celica , no different between the 5 or 6 spd . so we do offer stage 1 - 4 ! thanks lonnie So looks like we have another choice!

I am shopping for a new clutch right now....I have a turbo, so i need the clutch to hold over 200hp, especially if I go to the track. I dont want to over kill it though as I want my left leg to survive daily driving...I am thinking of trying something different though like a Centerforce dual friction set up...I know some guys who have turboed celicas w/ the ACT clutches ...HD and Extreme...and they complain about the sudden engagement, and stiffness.......I am going to consider Clutchmasters though...

Make sure you check out the RPS street clutch.

I have heard nothing but good things from RPS and Clutchmasters. I have heard several issues with ACT, from a noisy throw out bearing to the clutch not disengaging properly (due to the throw arm). Haven't heard any complaints on the like from RPS and Clutchmasters.

i abuse the **** out of my clutch on my vibt gt, and have even glazed it over once when it slipped when i launched wrong. I have 24,000 miles and nothing is wrong, i still go racing every weekend or so, and drop the clutch at 5000 rpm or more
