i plan to put a sub in my vibe, i think i may also replace the stock head unit. i have the moon and tunes package, isnt there a 200 watt amp someplace? i wont loose any power if i replace the stock HU i assume? what are some good headunits that fit the vibe well?

you will need to install in in line modulator to depower the signal coming from the headunit otherwise you will be amplifying and amplified signal which basically means you will lose volume control and it will sound bad but it can be done

Almost any headunit will fit the Vibe. A lot of people have gone for Pioneers, Kenwoods, Sony's.. It really depends on the features you want.As for the M&T amplifier, the best method of dealing with that thus far seems to be bypassing it.

As a M & ex-T owner, I would recomend buying a decent head unit and bypassing the M & T amp. You can get as much or more performance from a decent replacement HU.

Alpine is one of the more expensive units you can buy. Go for a Pioneer or a Panasonic, they'll be cheaper and the Pioneer will sound just as good.
