factory HU removal

so... what exactly is involved in physically removing the factory hu? i don't see any of those DIN holes on the front. are there any special tools required?

You're gonna kick yourself it's so easy.First, use a screwdriver or taped blade to pry forward the trim panel around the radio. Then, unclip the four harnesses: one on the left side, three on top.Let the trim hang by the remaining steel wire.Then just use a ratchet or other nut driver to remove the four bolts that hold it in. M12 I believe, but I won't swear to it.Then pull it out, unclip the two harnesses, BAM, you're done.

I believe they're 10mm bolts holding it in... At least they are on the NAV..

10 or 12, couldn't remember. But now that I think about it, I bet you're right.
