short ram install

ok, i was going to venture out and try to install my short ram. then i got scared. doe sit look hard then it really is? i really cant afford to mess my car up. anyone have a intall guide with pics? my ram came with one,. but they are crappy b/w pics. alittle advise would be great here.

I assume the bulk of a short ram installation is comparable to that of a full CAI. In the case that it is, it's very easy. Essentially, all you have to do is dissasemble and remove the stock airbox and tubes, release the VSV from the airbox, and then install the short ram.Here's a walkthrough of a CAI install though:

thanks, yeah i saw that before, now the pics dont work. i guess id like to hear from anyone with an actual short ram.

You could always reach out for Nova via e-mail...he turned his CAI into a short ram...

why did he do that, does a short ram have less power? or whatever the advantage of a full cai is.....

I think it had something to do with the matrix CAI not properly fitting in the Vibe...but I could be wrong...

Hey Meat.....what kind did you end up with......is the the blue bomz from ebay? Its really straight foward with exception of all the hoses.....they can get confusing...i had issues when i had two of them reversed....if you got the bomz then i can help you big time.....ive got pics too.pics will be found at VIBEMEAT on MSN

I put mine on alone in 1.5 hours. I am no motorhead by any means. It is not that hard, just take your time and you will be fine.

Did you buy the AEM short ram? I installed that one with no problems. I think it took me like 30 minutes. The instructions that came with mine were really good.

Isn't the only thing that is really different is the little vaccum hose connector that you have to cap off on the GT? I guess that would mean an extra vaccum line but I believe that is totally removed all together....hence the plugging up of the line.Jim
