Passive Keyless Entry

So, I ordered up a PKE system. This is the wiring diagram I've got:

So I have a few questions:
1. I can just splice the wires just directly into the "hot" side of whatever circuit they go to, right? I have done a lot in electrical class, but I haven't spliced anything into a circuit before.
2. Regarding the Green wire -> NO and Purple wire -> COM, that has to do with the central locking system apparently. I have no idea what to do here at all.
3. 3 trunk wires?
4. 6 central lock wires? One per door, or what?
5. Is IG1 and IG2 probably mean ignition, right?

I expect this to get pretty intense. Luckily I have a full weekend and lots of wiring diagrams for the Vibe via ProDemand, so I'm not too worried beyond not really understanding the PKE diagram.

I truly hope you got more install instructions than that. That looks like a total cluster-f#!k for an install diagram. I know nothing about this system, but I'll try and answer your questions.

1. If the system has internal relays for everything, yes, you should be able to splice directly to the 'hot' wire.
2. What year is your car? Most of our cars use a negative pulse to lock/unlock the doors. Is there any more literature that explains what these wires do?
3. There are numbers next to each of those wire colors. Is there any more literature that explains what these wires do?
4. Again, is there any more literature that explains what these wires do?
5. Yes, Ign1 and Ign2 will be your ignition wire (hot when key in accessory AND crank) coming down the steering column.

If you haven't already, find your car HERE and download the wiring diagram.

I finally located the rest of the instructions inside of the outside box (inside box holding the system, outside box being the shipping box)

1. If the system has internal relays for everything, yes, you should be able to splice directly to the 'hot' wire.
Thanks.
2. What year is your car? Most of our cars use a negative pulse to lock/unlock the doors. Is there any more literature that explains what these wires do?
Sorry, it's an '06. The instructions say 22 is a positive switch trigger, and 11 is a negative switch trigger.
3. There are numbers next to each of those wire colors. Is there any more literature that explains what these wires do?
Yeah, the instructions I just found do explain them, thankfully.
4. Again, is there any more literature that explains what these wires do?
For some reason, none what-so-ever. I'll see if I can send an email.
5. Yes, Ign1 and Ign2 will be your ignition wire (hot when key in accessory AND crank) coming down the steering column.
Thanks!

Ok, here's what I've done so far:

PKE-003 Passive Keyless Entry system

Four Pin Harness (GRN, PPL) (ORG/GRN not present, last terminal empty)
  • GRN=NO
    PPL=COM
I started with the "key sense": spliced the PPL (PKE) wire into the "car" side of the DRK GRN/BLK (car) wire. Next, I spliced the GRN (PKE) wire into the ignition cylinder side of the same DRK GRN/BLK (car) wire. THESE ARE ALL IN THE SMALL CONNECTOR PLUGGED INTO THE IGNITION SWITCH.

Six Pin Harness (BLU, RED, BRN, BRN, YEL, RED)
  • BLU=ACC
    RED=+12V
    BRN=IG2
    BRN=IG1
    RED=+12V
    YEL=START
I need to do: BLU (PKE) into BLU/RED (car)
BRN1 into BLK/WHT
BRN2 into BLK/YEL
RED into ??? (+12V that's always hot)
YEL into RED
THESE ARE ALL IN THE LARGE CONNECTOR IN THE IGNITION SWITCH.

24-Pin Harness
  • 1 YEL (large) = OIL CONTROL (not used)
    2 BRN = TURN SIGNAL
    3 RED = +12V
    4 PNK = HORN
    5 PPL = TRUNK 1
    6 YEL = CENTRAL LOCK WIRE (CLW)
    7 WHT/BLK = CLW
    8 = YEL/BLK
    9 NONE
    10 NONE
    11 BLU/YEL = NEGATIVE TRIGGER DOOR SWITCH
    12 NONE
    13 YEL (large) = OIL CTRL (not used)
    14 BRN = TURN SIGNAL
    15 GRN = TRUNK 3
    16 BLU = TRUNK 2
    17 BLK = GROUND
    18 ORG/BLK = CLW
    19 ORG = CLW
    20 WHT = CLW
    21 NONE
    22 BLU/RED = POS TRIGGER DOOR SWITCH
    23 ORG/GRN = FOOT BRAKE SIGNAL
    24 WHT (large) ACC (input)
I'm ignoring most of those bloody CLWs. I may do 6 YEL into GRN (10 pin harness in KICK PANEL). Ignore 1 YEL and 13 YEL.
2 BRN and 14 BRN into ???
3 RED into ???
4 PNK into GRN/YEL in the HORN SWITCH
5 PPL, 15 GRN, 16 BLU are being ignored for now. They're for a trunk motor.
11 BLU/YEL into BLU/YEL in the KICK PANEL??? (10 pin harness)
17 BLK should be bolted onto a good ground somewhere under the dash and out of harm's way.
22 BLU/RED isn't going to be used on my '06.
23 ORG/GRN into GRN/WHT in the harness above the brake pedal.
24 WHT into ???

I just noticed some mistakes I made via the info you linked me, mate. I was thinking ProDemand would have everything, but it actually left me a looot of empty spots.
