Yup, the volume/power knob broke on my 2010 GT at 23k miles. About 80% of the time I use the buttons on the steering wheel and dont even touch the thing. Another trip for warranty work.

Blugh, my tune knob broke, so I guess I'm still lucky I always use my steering wheel controls!

Or is it Toyota radio?I assume Crutchfield would have a selection of better aftermarket radios.

Its a GM radio. At least I know the radio's in the Matrix's are different. It has the whole GM radio feel. Matches almost all of the other radio's that they have. At least the set up.

So far so good with both our radios. All these little things will probably start happening to our Vibes next spring/summer right after our warranties expire though .

I have read a lot of posts about these things breaking. Obviously they are fragile and poorly engineered.I am curious, exactly what were you doing when the knob broke. I never turn my radio off. If I don't want it on I simply turn the volume all the way down. Maybe only turning the knob rather than punching it will prevent breakage?

That's the thing, I barely even use it the knob as I have steering wheel controls and use those all the time. I noticed the knob was kind of "limp" and didn't look right while driving - there is a bigger gap at the top and non on the bottom.
