The left front speaker was blown so I put a set of Polk Audio speakers with a little box in and the sounded great.(not quite sure what the box is for but I was told to use it)Three days later both front door speakers and the sub quit working.Did the speakers ruin the radio or the amp I'm stumped.

that box is a crossover. it separates the highs from th mids and sends the different signals to their respective speakers. u might have had a bad conection somewhere or maybe the positive and negative wires for the speakers touched causing the amp fuse to blow. im not sure. do u have a M+T amp or aftermarket ?

Its the factory amp.I checked all the fuses per the owners manual and none were blown.I did'nt see a separate fuse just for the amp.

Are you sure the crossover was connected correctly? High's to the woofer and lows to the tweeter could cause an issue. I would also check to make sure power is going into/ out of the crossover. That will narrow the location of the issue.

I took the crossovers out and they smelled like they were fried. So I left them out.I removed the amp and jumped the wiring and could make all the speakers work.So the amp was fried put in a used amp $125.00 and it works great. So I'm thinking the crossovers fried the amp some how.
