Just purchased a 2003 Vibe GT. Looking to spice things up a bit on the performance side. Budget for playing is small but existent. Any advice? Where to start? What to start with? Open to any and all suggestions! Thanks!

cold air intake, replace pcv valve and put some sea foam through the system, and exhaust. magnaflow is arguably the bext exhaust, but $600 fof a system.also new brass shifter bushings and a short throw shifter will help a lot. i desperatly need to get those...

Depending on your knowledge of the vehicles maintenance and the mileage, I'd start with the basics before adding on a bunch of performance mods.New plugs aren't a bad idea, your Vibe uses Iridium plugs that are rated at 100-120k and are a bit expensive, but won't have to be done again for a long time. New PCV valve, run a good fuel system/injector cleaner (I like Techron), check your fluid quality and levels (coolant, brakes, power steering, etc), a high quality synthetic oil can provide improved protection and allow extended oil change intervals and possibly clean your oil control valve and filter. Depending on your dedication you could clean your throttle body and/or intake manifolds.After those are all good, I fully support adding a CAI with a high flow filter and an aftermarket exhaust

What matters the most?1. Handling - get lowering springs. If you like it about 2" lower, there are probably good deals in the for sale section on Tein S-Tech.2. Speed (or at least noise) - get a short ram intake. I think this tends to make more of a difference than an exhaust and it's cheaper.3. Looks? Also lowering springs, IMO. If you want cosmetics, I'd suggest window tinting. I like 35% all around (from what I've seen).Also in the looks/handling dept would be aftermarket wheels. Set it apart from the crowd!

Welcome! Good advice by all. Do the maintence checks first. The CAI/SRI is chea/easy, the exhaust is also fairly cheap.

Anyone have any input on a short ram intake versus a full CAI?

I like the CAI, I get good gas mileage, nice sound, and maybe a little power. Bad side, its a ***** to change the filter, Its a difficult install at first, and it will need to be cut for the throttle body spacer.SRI - easy install, less expensive, easy changing filter. Not as much performance, not as good gas mileage. Its all really personal preference. From everything I see, a lot of people do the SRI because its easier for maintenence. I used them in the past but wanted a CAI for the vibe and I couldnt be happier.
