Steel or metal valve stems for winter tires?

Ok, shopping for winter tire and steel rim package at Tirerack. Thinking of going with 195/60R16 Bridgestone Blizzak WS60 Blackwall tires on steel rims. I figure these should work better in snow than 205's. What should I do for valve stems? Metal or rubber? The TPMS sensors are only 136 bucks if going with rubber and I was almost thinking of getting them, they are twice the price with metal stems. Maybe I should just put up with the low pressure light? Decisions...

Even for $136, I would put up with the low-pressure light. I don't have the sensors in my wheels and put up with the light all the time anyway. You could always put a piece of electrical tape over the light to cover it.

I'm leaning towards just skipping them. The total w/o them would come to $644.80 minus the $50 gift card. Not too bad.

Don't waste your money on the TPMSs. If you get them in your winter wheels, the ones in your 18s will have to be re-programmed (by the dealer) every spring and the ones in the winter wheels will have to be re-programmed (by the dealer) every fall. My mom and I got 16" steelies for our '09 GTs last winter and the light being on is not a big deal. After a week or so you won't even notice it anymore .

Well, the tires and rims are ordered. Should be good to go.

metal valve stems are harder to slash... If you happen to live in that kind of neighbourhood!
