Wiper Blade Angle Adjustment

I noticed today that when my front wipers are off, the passenger side one doesn't move completely off the clear glass like the driver's side one does. There was plenty of room for it, but apparently whomever installed them didn't take the time to make the left match the right.Deciding I'd see if I could adjust them myself, I pulled off the black plastic piece covering a hex nut at the base of the passenger side wiper. Found a socket that would fit that nut, and loosened it about 1/2 a turn. Sure enough, the wiper stalk could then be rotated. I rotated mine down into the "black", to match the driver's side blade. Then tightened up the nut.Looks far better now. Still works perfectly. In fact now the passenger side blade wipes EXACTLY to the limit of the driver's blade arc. Before the paths were overlapping (too) much more.So check your wiper blades. If they don't both park below the clear glass, they can be adjusted easily. If adjusting the driver's side, you'll have to open the hood to access the nut.KSNeptune

You know, I noticed the same thing the other day. Glad that this can be adjusted. I actually have a mechanical limit switch with the same type of locking mechanism that I work with, so I feel 100% on messing with it.Good project for the weekend.

I like Salsa's approach ... I don't need to drive it to see how it works. I have a few other things to do this weekend: plant garden, spray weeds, laundry, groceries.Man, I think I'll need Friday off!!

Just got finished adjusting my passenger's side blade. I didn't move it much ... you can see the old position from the dirt line ... don't mind all the dead bugs on my windshield.Over all, definitely only a 5 minute procedure. I would recommend that you lift the hood to do it, you get much better access to the area. I only own a 14 mm socket, not a wrench, so I definitely needed the head room.No beer needed Now, back to that laundry.

Wow... what a difference that makes in the way the Vibe looks. Now I don't have to look over to the passenger side windshield and get mad every time I see that d@$n wiper blade sticking up!!! Took me long enough to get around to do it and only took about 5 mins at most and worth every second of it!

I dont' know if that is worth it to add that to my signature or not. Probably not a big enough mod to worry about, but it sure does look better now! I'm thinking of getting white wiper blades to go with my Frosty Vibe... any thoughts on that? It my look too cheesy, but I'm not sure.

Has anyone checked the 04's and 05's to see how the wiper angle is?
