Greetings all,I have a question regarding storage of tires not in use. Are there any special precautions you should take to ensure your all seasons last the summer? Or to ensure that your summer tires last the winter? I have never had a set of summer tires before and would appreciate any advice you can give.

quote:If you store a tire (on the rim) flat on the ground and pile them up, it can give a bend to the sidewall.....The weight of the rim will move the rim downward and produce a pressure on the tire that could deform it. Most tire experts recommend storing tires vertically on their treads to minimize stress and possible tire distortionActually, I read somewhere it's recommended storing them vertically regardless of whether they're rim-mounted or not.

Thanks for the Info. I'll be sure to do that when I get some new wheels/tires.
