Ya gotta play metal through the subs. Certain songs it gets muddy, but most are freaking awesome!!!! I haven't had subs since I got the Vibe back so I can't think of a good song. Two cd's though,:DJ Irene: RockstarDJ Baby Anne & Jen Lasher: Sound Assualt (I think) Disc 1 (Baby Anne's)

Other favourites:NERD : Rock Star (Jason Nevins remix)Beastie Boys : IntergalacticI've got to scroll through my bass playlist when I get home. My brain is frozen right now.

I can't think of anything I like off the top of my head. DJ Tiesto is pretty awesome. I like the Lovestoned remix. And I see you like Metallica by your display pic. The Black Album is one of my favourite albums (even though I know it's radio-play...).Quote, originally posted by kunkstyle »Beastie Boys : IntergalacticAgreed, it hits very nicely. I'm going to add that to my list!

yeah, it is hard to pick out a particular sound. Live sets or cd's are easier for techno. So far I haven't found anything Tiesto that I don't like!!Yeah, the Black album is a classic. I just wish the first 4 records were mixed and produced as well as the Black, then that would lead to some crazy double bass and off time bass!!

I don't know if they're "sub" music though. Definitely better with a good amp and sub of course.

Groillaz and Kanye wests heartless and stronger, and some of Scions Sample CDs. theres a few more but i have to go back thru and weed them out. though id have a lot more if i had a bigger amp than my weak little 560watt for my 2 12"s

Testing a sub isn't just how deep one can get either, it's also about the authority it produces notes, the "kick" weather or not the notes "overhang" there are a lot of different factors.. DMB has some crazy bass in the old stuff, as well as Manson..

On some song I play on my subs I get like a rattle or not much of akick, but more of a vibration noise. Is this more of a problem of how the song sounds on it's own, or is my subs, or is it my amp? Would a bigger amp fix this problem?

Outkast - Intro (from the Speakerboxxx/The Love Below Album, I forget which disk). This is the first song I ever heard while riding in a car with subwoofers and I was thoroughly surprised the little 93' Civic didn't rattle itself apart.

What sort of box are they in sealed/ported and how big? What are they? (the subs) and how are they wired (DVC/SVC, dual 4ohm coils..ect)what amp? At what point in a song does this happen? Is it just the VERY low notes?

http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=35580I'm not sure how they're wired, I don't really know much about them. If you explain it to me I'm sure I could figure it out.The amp is a 600 watt or 650 watt Sony Xplod. And this seems to happen on the more low notes. Like a longer note seems to not bump as much. The longer bass notes just don't sound as nice, do you know what I mean?Another thign it could be is the cold. The warmer my car, the better sounding I find it. It's pretty cold out recently, but it's warming up.Quote, originally posted by tribalman »hardware does matter a bit, but so do the settings. in my system the setting of the HU affect how the sub sound and so do the setting on the amp. i'd say try retuning it. my HU has setting for bass, treble, and sub. the way i do it is i turn off the bass and off the sub. i tweak the treble until it sounds ok. i then turn on the bass. this is the bass that comes out the door speakers. i tweak it until the two sound good together. i add the sub last. i put the HU setting at the middle and then use the amp settings to tweak the sub sound. when i get it sounding ok i try a few different song styles to make sure they all sound good. Thanks for your help. I do tend to tune with my HU a lot, and I find myselfing adjusting the bass with every song. I just checked my HU again and I found some more settings to tamper with. I believe it's called HDU or something? I will check it out when I remember.Another problem I found is when I change the settings with my HU, my subs are unaffected by the subwoofer setting. I used to be able to make it sound better by tuning the subwoofer setting, but now the only thing that controls the subs is the bass setting.

I have the same magnaflow too and love it, you can usually get a used one on ebay or cragislist. I wanted a valid warranty so I got it here. Magnaflow 36356. Also some of the forum sponsors usually have a sale going on. Either way its a great exhaust system, sounds great, and very easy to install.
