Hi folks, I am considering a Vibe GT as my daily driver. I am looking at a really nice used 03 and will be doing a close mechanical check of it this week. I've learned a lot by searching the forum here, but couldn't find the specification for a compression test. Would any of you that have a repair manual be able to look that up for me?

I believe its 11.5:1 compression on the GT. Hence why they are some what not boost friendly.

I think what he's after is the actual compression in PSI to check the condition of the engine.

The third page of the attached PDF says that for the 2ZZ engine in a Vibe GT, the compression should be:Compression:Compression pressure 1,400 kPa (14.3kgf/cm2 203 psi)Minimum pressure 1,000 kPa (10.3 kgf/cm2 145 psi)Difference between each cylinder 110 kPa (1.1kgf/cm2 16 psi)(I assume that "difference between each cylinder" would be a maximum difference, not a required difference)For comparison, and for anyone looking at a non-GT, for the 1ZZ engine, the values areCompressionCompression pressure 1,300 kPa (13.3 kgfVcm2, 189 psi)Minimum pressure 1,000 kPa (10.2 kgfVcm2, 145 psi)Difference between each cylinder 100 kPa (1.0 kgfVcm2, 15 psi)

Thanks a bunch. That is exactly what I was looking for. I will be doing the test on Satuday, I'll post the results! Thanks again.

It came out 210, 206, 218, 207. All above the minimum specs. Looks like I'm a new Vibe GT owner.
