Grand Theft Auto 4

As I recall GTA 3 came out amid lots of controversy re its content. What is the prevailing consensus re the latest release in terms of what some might consider very adult themes? I ask as I have teenagers who do want it. I am looking for some reviews or feedback to make a more informed decision.

I was just going to create a post about GTA IV... Mine is being shipped to my door... It's gotten a lot of hype... a lot of HUGE scores 10 out of 10 on IGN... it's been 9 years since they've given a 10 out of 10...I can't wait!

having played the other 8 gta's (yeah, 9th GTA game but it's called 4.) i'm going to avoid this one at least for a few months. as for the 10/10. haha, not warrented. if you notice, ign.com will gripe about a game, and give it atleast a 7. check this out:""How can we trust a videogame review when the outlet running it has been given a major commercial favor — one that's worth money — from the publisher of the game? You never see a paper or TV station getting special access from a movie studio or TV network or book publisher to run an "exclusive review," " says Ben Fritz."Imagine the L.A. Times or Roger Ebert touting their "exclusive review of 'Iron Man.'" Absurd, right? So why do we tolerate it for a videogame?"Fritz references IGN as a clear example, a site which recently ran an exclusive review of Grand Theft Auto IV and gave the game a 10/10 score. He also talks about Game Informer, which gave Mass Effect a near-perfect score despite noting several problems with the game." - Joe Martin from this article http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2...ing/1i used to be like that, read the reviews, and then buy. but after dealing with so many "great, best game of the year, get it now" games that did not deserve the rankings they got, i now will either let my friends waste their money, i mean buy the game cause they still believe the hype, and then borrow it from them later or just avoid it all together. the last game i purchased was CoD 4 pc, only after playing many hours of it on the 360 and enjoying it. before that? orange box. and before that, um.... ffxi expansions after many reviews and conversations with other players about the content and if they felt it was worth the value.

man i wish i could go buy it already. i passed up a gamestop in the mall today, and was really tempted to pick it up, but i need to wait for a while here's a review by a real person like you and me, not somethin from IGN. there are a couple cuss words in this review, so i wouldn't recommend watching this at work. with that said, here it is: http://youtube.com/watch?v=-sWro6M7yL0

well i played a good..5-6 hours last night of the game, i love it, the car physics are a lil hard to get used too..but once you do it's real easy, best thing to do is just to use the brake, done use the e-brake if you dont have too.game play so far is great, missions are a little easy, but im still with the first 2 contact guys(nikos' cousin and another guy).the new cop thing is great, i've tried to cross the bridge, and got a 6 star right away, it's nearly impossible to get away but so much fun just trying

Yeah, I don't know what the deal is. My connection is strong, but for some reason my connection to PS3 live or whatever it is always goes in and out. Never had a problem when I was actually playing online, but when I am just on playing a game or whatever it seems to come and go for some reason. Haven't gotten to play much, also depends on when you saw me. Yesterday I was messing with the cheat codes and didn't want it to save, that and turned it off when the wife came home and on again shortly thereafter, and then we leave for a while, and come back and play some more! lol

Stole a heli from the airport... man the skyline is pretty cool to see at night in the heli...I'm taking my time playing the game, I'd rather play all the side missions than to just complete the story....Something that I've done on this game that on all previous games I did not is... allow myself to get busted/die.. It use to matter to me to see that I died playing the game... this time... it's all about the stats... I want to see how many time I can bet busted/die... along with how many people I can take down... on the first Liberty city I killed 150,000 people... We'll see how many I can take down in this one...

yeah first thing I did was turn off the cell phone and go cruising around the city. Drove to the airport and stole a nice convertable and went driving. the city is amazing in detail. Took me a little bit to get used to the new driving controls. Is it just me or do cars not stop as well as they used to. Played some of the missions, took Michelle on two dates, bowling and a show. Both where pretty funny. I figured I'd to the early missions to unlock places. Is there a garage I can store a car at? If so I can't find it at Niko's first place...Anyone set their ring tone? I got mine set to spy tone lol.

ringtone: malfunctionYou can store 2-3 cars in front of Niko's place there's a yellow box you can park the cars in on the street right in front of the door you walk out of his place.
