Bubble on side wall

I was driving down a pot hole filled dirt road the other day and when I stopped I noticed that a small bubble (size of a nickel) was on the transition area between the side wall and the tread. Will this cause a blow out for sure or do I have some time to replace the tire?

Don't drive on it if you can avoid it. An actual bubble means the tire's skin is damaged internally, and being where it is, it could blow out really easy.

Maybe I should have said that it is raised in a half small somewhat like a bubble form..... ....it does not look too terrrible but I guess it's time to replace it then. These tires are only a few months old too, oh well thankfully I get a huge discount on tires.

Replace it asap! It will blow out.

It's called a ply-seperation...It could be small... I've seen them where there's multiple little bubbles... but regardless if it's 1 or 10 of them... it means that the integrity of your tire has been compromised and could blow out at any time...

Had that happen to one of my tires too... got it replaced as soon as I saw that bubble, not something you want to mess around with.

Like ColenelPanic I had a bubble myself once (on my last car). Unlike him, I didn't get it changed (I was poor and didn't think it'd be a big deal). Two days later it blew out hard core right as I was getting on the freeway. I'm so glad it did it before, since a blow out at higher speeds is a bad deal. Change is asap.

I just had to replace a tire that this happened to. It blew out. It was a rear tire though, calm as far as blowouts go.

It is a Bridgestone Potenza G-OO9 which I'll probably replace with a Fuzion ZRi or something comparable.
