Was wondering if it is worth it to spend the money to get it done, $200, or can it be done by semi experienced car people in a day? Truthfully?!?!?!

I have not done my vibe but I've done Civic's, Eclipses, Preludes, Neons... It isn't too hard, but you might need a spring compressor.

it's pretty easy if you know what to do, but you would definitly need a spring compressor, and airtools if you got any, makes the job much much easier.i usually lower my car at work(dealership) so i got access to hoists and airtools and spring compressors and all, takes me a good hour-1.5 hours to do the full jobi'd say doing it without all the goods i got access too, it'd take maybe 4 hours..a good hour per strut/shock

set aside a day to do it and a spring compressor is a must. If you like working on your car do it, otherwise if you got the money and hate working on your car have a shop do it.

I had my civic done in an hour.It would take me about 2 hours to do the vibe (I wouldn't hurry myself)

Would you know of a place that I might be able to rent all those types of tools, compressor included?

i JUST finished putting coilovers in my AWD vibe took me longer than expected because of the independent rear suspention. I do have air tools but I did everything with hand tools. I did rent the spring compressors to make the job easier. All said and done because I have never done a lowering before on a vibe with the independent rear suspention and the coil overs needed to be modified it took me about 6hrs. Currently the car is at the shop to get a four wheel alinement.Don't worry you photo mongers i will post a thread with photos of before and after.i did a 2inch drop all the way around

Now, I like working on the car, but by no means am I what you would call a experienced car guy. Is it still feasible for my self and maybe two other guys to do it? I have a link bookmarked from here with a complete how to on the lowering job. Where did you rent the spring compressor from?

I did the job with no help in that amount of time. And like I said I haven't done it before. So with the help of a few others you should have it knocked out in no time flat.I rented my spring compressor from autozone. 40.00 deposit which is refunded to you as long as you return them.I don't know where you could rent them in Canada though

Hit a Princess Auto. They have spring compressors for $14.99.That's what I have and used when I did mine. And a 22mm socket for the front bolts.I would also buy 2 camber bolts for the front,1 on either side to get your alignment close.
