Keyless Entry Wiring Question

I'm going to install a power lock/keyless entry system on my wife's 2000 Plymouth Neon (currently has no power locks) I'm going to use a kit found at JC Whitney http://www.jcwhitney.com/autop...90855Since I'm only going to be using this for keyless entry (No trunk release, no alarm, and no "panic alarm") it looks like the only wires I need from the 16 pin connector are the: White (+12V or (-) Parking light output (connect to switched +12 wire at back of parking light switch or back of light) Red (+12V) Power output (Connect to battery positive terminal) Yellow (Ignition switched "on" and "Start +12V) - The diagram shows this wire being connected to the fuse box, just before the ignition switch, (So do I splice into the ignition wire at the fuse box?) Black - Ground The six wires from the door lock harness are: Violet - (Connect to +12V Constant) (Where would I connect this to?) Brown/Black - Ground Blue/Black - Door unlock - connect to actuator Green/Black - Door Lock - connect to actuator White/Black - Ground Violet/Black - (Connect to +12V Constant) again, where to? Any thoughts? Thanks

I'm assuming any wire in the kit that requires +12 constant means I can attach it anywhere my multimeter reads +12V with the key off.

You could attach it directly to the battery if you wanted to.As for the rest, sorry that I can't be of help. But good luck though!

Thanks, that's what I thought. I installed an aftermarked CD player in that car in 2005, but those connections were pretty easy to do. I've installed CB radios in my parents' vehicles in the past, but I probably didn't do that safely (I'd wedge the wire into a fuse (Dome light for example, and ground the radio to a screw in the passenger compartment). Never started any fires, but probably not the smartest way to go. (About 13-15 years ago)
