Has anyone had to get shims to align the rear axle?

I have 89,000 miles on my '03 Vibe GT and my driver side tire is starting to wear unevenly. Firestone tells me that its due to the rear-alignment of the car, but its not adjustable. Has anyone else out there had this problem. Firestone said I needed to get shims so that I could adjust the rear alignment. Anyone.....Bueller....ANyone?

just get your car aligned and tires balanced at a reputable shop. should be less than 100 bucks. after my accident my alignment was off, so that was covered under the cost of the fix but i had uneven wear on the tires between the accident and fix.

It was aligned. On the vibe though...the front is the only thing that is adjustable... the rear alignment is not adjustable. I've rotated and balanced the tires every 8-10,000 miles and have had the alignment checked 2-3X since I've had it. No accidents....so I shouldn't have this problem...but it does have almost 90,000 miles on it...so has anyone been unable to have their rear alighment fixed?

Yeah,I got those disks for my rears, but I'm dropped a couple of inches. They are cheap on ebay and shouldn't be a problem to install.I can't say it's normal for a stock Vibe, but if that's what it takes, then get them.

I got 3 shims placed on the rear driver side and she's running purdy again...of course to check that out, I had to go on a 500 mile Road trip to make sure it didn't become unstable aboe 60, so of course I had to go 115 for a couple legs of the trip!
