Should I Change My Belt NOw ..Even Though It Shows No Signs Of Breakage? My Belt Tensioner Is Making Noise Though..

No cracks? or nics after that long... must be a record.you are going to have the belt off when you change the tensioner.... might as well swap it out now.Or leave it til it shows signs of "breakage"but then you will need a tow truck.whatever turns you on.

I would say switch it and hold on to it as a spare in case you do get a bad belt in the future.

thnx...i may just go on ahead and buy a new belt..but iis it hard to get on and off...?

no, the serpentine accessory drive belt. Vibes/matrixes have timing chains, which last a lot longer than timing belts.

really good to know thanks muchand as far as the tensioner, is that something that routinely gets replaced also? or is it just due to his making noise?

The serpentine belt tensioner only needs to be replaced if it develops a problem.As for the belt change... not hard at all. Should take 5-10 minutes to do.
