Well went out today and got me a K&N drop-in filter.Took of the intake box and cleaned it out also took off the MAF and gave it a clean and did a ecu reset. To be honest i did'nt expect much result from it since the alterations are minimal but boy did it suprise me !!she runs a lot smoother now and has definitly found some horses somewhere even the exhaust seems to make a lot lower sound now.Had a laugh too when i used some air intake cleaner big old puff off soot on her first start ^^I'm quite happy now

Your improvement is more so from the MAF cleaning than the drop-in filter. The Drop-in will make your intake and exhaust only slightly louder and give you only a 1-2hp gain. Nice to see a small gain from a new filter and a little cleaning. I would recommend cleaning both once a year now to maintain maximum performance.

Yep cleaning your MAF should definitly be a more "mainstream" service procedure (as in everybody should do it)Wondering now if i should run through a bottle of injector cleaner (My vibe being pre owned and all)already changed all the fluids in her

Wouldn't be a bad idea.

get an injector flush at a dealer... dont waste your money on fuel system additives. They are good "maintenance" but if you are concerned about getting the system clean do a proper inj flush.

1. Disconnect Battery2. Remove MAF Sensor3. Spray w/ MAF cleaner (can get at any auto parts store)The amber bulb is the air temp sensor you should also spray the two silver wires that are up inside.4. Let it air dry (evaporate)5. Reinstall MAF Sensor6. Reconnect Battery

The MAF is way before things get dirty in the intake past the PCV. So cleaning may help a little. But what do you clean it with?
