The E-brake should work at night if you have the E-brake engaged when the car is started. At least that's how mine works. When you release the E-brake, the lights will come back on. Mine is an '03 and I know the '04s and up have a different headlight module but I'm pretty sure this function is the same.

I think in the 05 plus, the e-brake will prevent the DRLs coming on, but there's no stopping the headlights when the auto sensor wants to turn them on.Try standing a flashlight on top of the sensor ?
